"And I'll be here," he said as Anthony made his leave. Zacharias pulled out his wand, preferring to have it in his hand and at the ready just in case. There were just nearly dead people walking lately and really an idiot of a murderer might come back to the scene to finish the job. More than anything it gave him a false sense of comfort as he waited for Anthony to return with people who were paid to deal with this shit.
Maybe Zacharias should have thought about his decision again, because now he was alone with the body, wand at the ready. Presumably the ripples of the don't-notice spell were still in effect, but someone could still wander over. Although really, what it gave him was space to think. Whose mother did they find? Would there now be a spouse to identify the body? He felt a pang of sympathy, knowing what was coming next.
