Who: Agatha Bole & Ginny Weasley
What: Tracking down more 'zombies'
Where: Diagon Alley, Orchard Produce
When: November 13, 1PM
Rating: Bad language, but that's all

Aggie had been tracking down one of the stragglers for half an hour now. For some reason, it was able to evade her - which was unusual in and of itself. However, it was very likely explained by the fact that she'd caught a handful of older teenagers (likely recent Hogwarts graduates by the look of them) trying their hands at being vigilantes, but only succeeding in getting in Aggie's way.

She'd finally managed to send them off with a threat and was now sneaking around the corner of the barber shop, watching as her target crashed its way into the produce market. She drew her wand and stepped forward, making her way in after the mindless body.

Ginny had Percy's green shopping notebook in one hand, a sackful of groceries in the other. He hadn't actually needed too terribly much, but she lit on the idea of making curry for dinner as a wordless sort of 'thank you'. Those sorts of things were always said best with food.

A person crashed, quite literally, into the side of the tomato stand. Ginny started, nearly dropped her grocery sack, and was about to offer a hand up, when she caught a good look at the man.

Vacant eyes.

Tattered, prison-issue pyjamas.

Oh, bloody hell.

She set the sack aside, hoping the food wouldn't get kicked over in whatever ensuing fracas was sure to happen, and drew her wand.

Aggie stepped through the door and almost went sliding as she stepped on a fallen tomato. At least it wasn't a banana - that would simply be too much of a cliche. She spotted a ginger girl with her wand drawn and hoped she would be more help than hindrance.

"Watch out for this one. He's a slippery bugger."

She raised her wand and tried to cast the binding spell, but the being moved behind a counter at the last moment. "Son of a bloody bitch."

The big girl's spell missed, ended up neatly tying a small pile of tomatoes together, but Ginny didn't have time to grin at that. She narrowed her eyes, threw a levitating spell at the... the once-person.

And it practically dove out of the way!

"What the bloody hell?" She blinked. "Aren't these things supposed to shamble?"

"I haven't a clue how they're being controlled, I just know they're bludgering anything within range."

It moved toward a customer in the back, who threw apples at it while screaming obscenities. Aggie tried another binding spell, but the view was blocked from her angle and she only ended up tying up a few pineapples.

She started moving around to get a better angle, wincing as the customer drew his wand, only for it to be grabbed and broken. "Get out of the bloody way!" she shouted at him. "Some of us are trying to do our jobs!"

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

Ginny levitated the customer up and out of the way, then tossed him off to the side, into several beds of lettuce. He'd be fine there, even if he was still screaming words that would make mum go red around the ears.

Maybe a freezing spell on the once-person? The thing? She hated to think of a person that way, but...

She tried the freezing spell.

When Aggie saw that the witch's target was the crazy customer, she breathed out in relief. Help, not hindrance, then. The freezing spell stopped the thing in its tracks, though there was a slight trembling as it tried to break out of it. Thankfully, it gave Aggie enough time to get within range and cast her trifecta.

Binding spell, wrapping ropes around the body. Transfiguration of the ropes into steel bonds. Relaxing spell to keep it from struggling but keep the heart beating. Now she could breathe. She stepped over to the body and took out a paperclip from her pocket. She clipped it onto a lapel, next to a small pin, and stepped back as she spoke a quick spell.

The body disappeared as it was portkeyed out.

She leaned against the nearest wall, exhausted. Her last pepper-up potion was nearly out of her system and she was beginning to feel the last 26 hours down to her bones.

"Thanks for your help," she said to the witch.

Triple whammy, and the once-person was taken care of. Quite quickly, which was a relief. No major damage, except maybe to lettuce man's dignity. A quick check to the grocery sack revealed no major damage there either.

The witch (likely an auror) slumped against the wall, looked for all the world like she was about to fall over.

"No problem." She raised an eyebrow. "Can I get you something? You look like you're two seconds from being unconscious."

Oh, she would love to close her eyes for just a moment, but she feared she wouldn't be able to open them again.

"I feel it," she replied with a grin. It had all been fun, and she hadn't had fun like this in ages. "I could definitely use some pepper-up if you have it, or a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, sleep doesn't seem to be in the cards until after a ton of paperwork and the start of a headcount."

She reluctantly pulled away from the wall, which was starting to feel far too much like a bed for her liking, and extended a hand. "I'm Auror Agatha Bole, and you're handy with a wand."

"Ginny Weasley." A firm handshake with the Auror. "And thanks."

She turned and grabbed her grocery sack, giving it a quick once over (Percy would not accept a lettuce that looked anything less than completely perky), before turning her attention back to Agatha.

"I don't carry pepper-up on me, but there's a shop down the street that does a good coffee. Care for a cuppa?"

[OOC: Sorry for the delay. The i'netz has been freakin' stoopid lately.]

Aggie definitely knew the name. "Nice to meet you properly. I believe we've fought on the same side before, five years ago."

A part of her wanted to keep going, but she knew that if she didn't at least take a break, she wouldn't be fit to capture another 'inferi'. "All right, a cup of something strong sounds good to me. Normally I keep some pepper-ups on me, but I've used them all up."

She finally pushed herself off the wall and clapped Ginny on the shoulder. "Come, Carousel's just a few doors down and they've a decent Egyptian brew, I hear."

[OOC: No worries!]

Ginny had no idea what constituted a decent Egyptian brew, but she did know a good pumpkin mocha when she saw one. She wasn't much of a coffee drinker, but she did like a good mocha now and again, especially when topped with ridiculous amounts of whipped cream and cinnamon. No sense in pretending a mocha was a healthy drink.

"So," she stirred the drink around with a tiny spoon, "might as well go straight to the source. What the hell's going on?"

The Egyptian brew was very strong, and had a hint of spice, and tasted as hot as the Sahara. It was exactly what Aggie needed to wake her up. She also appreciated Ginny's forthright honesty, though she didn't know if she'd have anything new to reveal.

"The hell if I know," she replied with a shrug. "They just showed up everywhere at 11 yesterday, and I've been after them ever since. They mucked up the Ministry, so that was what we cleared first, and it took me a bit to even figure out the right combination of spells to take them down without simply destroying them somehow. Been absolutely insane."

She took another fortifying drink and sighed in pleasure as the caffeine did its work. "So what was so important that you had to do groceries amid all this?" she asked with a smirk.
