Characters: Lee Jordan & Agatha Bole
Setting: 13 November (Thursday) @ 11:26AM.
Summary: Lee's supposed to be doing his job. "Inferi" got in the way.
Rating: There might be some bad language.

Today was the sort of day that made Lee really wish that he didn't actually like his job. Because, for one, he was pretty bleeding sure that if he didn't actually like his job, he could have called out for the day. Stayed at home. Watched some Muggle movies until this whole walking not-dead situation had been completely dealt with.

But, no.

Lee had to pick a job he loved, a job he actually wanted to progress at one day, so when he got an owl that told him that about three of the scheduled hosts had decided not to come in for the day, he couldn't say no. He had to prove that he was very very good at this. Which led him to now, two and a half hours later, crouching behind a desk as the one lone... whatever ambled by and trying to think of a nice, humane way to take it out since he sort of felt odd about. It wasn't like real Inferi, was it? What with the still being alive and whatnot.

On the other hand, of course, there was a good chance that if he was very quiet, he could just hang out right where he was. He was about ninety percent sure he'd seen on the of the secretaries fire calling for help a few minutes ago when he'd left everyone else in the one room they'd all piled into (it had seemed like a good idea at the time). Not that he didn't believe that he was fully capable of handling the situation if he had to. It was just that everything - and not just the past two days, either - had made him the slightest bit less enthusiastic about putting himself out there for injury. He was just very fond of not dying, all right?

His plan wasn't exactly about to work in any case, as Lee heard the shuffling before he saw any one body part and in an automatic reaction to protect himself, he grabbed the chair. He didn't exactly know how that was going to work out for him - but, hey, maybe it just would.

Oh, so he was being recongised by his Hogwarts commentating. Which was less than he had been hoping for, but still sort of brilliant in itself. And he was more than sure that it meant that the woman standing before him had to have been a former Slytherin, as she was focused more on the anti-Slytherin of it than the pro-Gryffindor.

He did smile just a little bit, still, leaning against the wall besides the broken pieces of door. "The one and only, yeah. Though, you know, I like to look at it as just being very loyal to my house team."

"Oh, is that so? Well, do you want to know what I think about that?"

Her look turned to a grin once again. "You didn't pick on Flint nearly enough. Did you know that arse wouldn't even let any of us girls try out for the team? Well, he said he would once, but only if we agreed to suck him off. Which pretty much explains why there were no girls on the House team."

What she never really told people was that she had once told Flint that she'd agree if she were accepted to the team first, but had been told to bugger off. She knew of at least one other girl who'd gone through with it, just to be told she still couldn't try out as Flint had zipped himself back up. She shook her head at the memories as she reached over the parial door to unlock it, opening it so that it was no longer posing a hazard, as the upper edge was broken up from the original damage.

"Do you have any idea how much all this damage is going to cost?" spoke a voice to her left. She looked over with a sigh of exasperation, noticing the people filing out of the room she'd originally passed.

"Frankly, that's none of my concern. Though if that's a problem, I can always bring back that troublemaker. I'm sure he could answer any questions you might have."

Lee raised his eyebrows then. He hadn't known that, actually, but somehow hearing about it didn't actually surprise him. He didn't need to know Flint from more than a distance to see that he was an utter and complete arse. It just sort of went along with grass being green and the sky being blue.

"If I could have a time turner, I assure you, I would go back and add a few more comments about how much of an arse Flint is in between all the other... stuff." Stuff, like complimenting Angelina on her performance. The fun part had been McGonagall's reactions to the more outrageous things he had said.

He looked over at the interrupting voice, raising an eyebrow. Somehow, he didn't think complaining about the damage was the way to go about being happy to still be uninjured or alive. "Let's look at it on the bright side, everyone's got their limbs, no one's died and it's a great dramatic tale for your friends over a pint of drinks, yeah?" Lee clapped his hands and grinned, even though none of his co-workers looked likely to return it. Oh well.

The person who'd spoken up huffed and turned away. "A 'thank you' would be nice from time to time," Aggie sighed. "But then, it's better than we get from the Prophet."

She twirled her wand around her fingers before sliding it into the holster on her hip. "I guess that's my cue to exit. Unless there's anything else I can do for you, Mister Lee Jordan?" she added with a wink.

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I've always had a theory that the Prophet offices mainly employed wankers," Lee commented, only about... half serious about it. There was still the other half that thought it was every bit possible that was one of their employment requirements just because of the shit they regularly published.

"What if," he started, raising his eyebrows just slightly, "I can't think of anything right at this particular moment, but something comes to mind later on and I decide there's only one Auror for the job?"

She smiled, holding back a hint of laughter. "Well then, I guess you'd better send me an owl, or catch me through the journals. Can't have you muddling through without your Favourite Person of the Day."

She turned, about to leave, but looked back over her shoulder. "Now don't get into any trouble I might have to arrest you for."

With a final wink, she started walking away, a swing in her step that hadn't been there a short while ago.

"No, that would be a real shame. Potentially pathetic, even." Lee almost murmured his reply, but he still wore a very satisfied grin for a reason he wasn't even rightly sure of yet. Lee decided against replying to that last statement as he figured that making a joke along the lines of that being kinky would not be the way to go with a woman he'd just met. Even if he would have been really creative with it.

He watched her leave for a second, and then went to go find someone in charge. Personally, he thought they should all just call it a day and go home, leaving Celestina Warbeck songs to play on the station all day, but that was just him.
