Who: Agatha Bole & Cade Warrington
What: Idle hands breed annoying Aurors
Where: DMLE, Auror Department
When: November 11, 1300
Rating: Language, but that's all

Upon reading the Daily Prophet that morning, Agatha had grown increasingly upset. How dare Ron Weasley get all the damned fun?! She'd been waiting for a dark witches to come around for years, since before the brat even became an Auror, and yet here was the most dangerous they'd seen in ages, and who got to challenge her? Weasley. She'd been pouting all morning behind an open file (to hide her face - she had an image to maintain) until finally deciding that it was her duty as an Auror of her caliber to pick herself up by the bootstraps... and find someone in the know to get information from, and live vicariously through them.

She made a stop down at the cafeteria for two coffees - knowing her target, she'd have 'irished' up one of them if she thought she could get away without Gaskin fnding out - and returned to the Auror Department, her target in sight. When she arrived at the desk, she placed the cup before her old House-mate.

"Cade, darling, how's your day been?"

The question actually got a derisive snort of laughter out of Cade. "Do I looking that bloody stupid?" He knew better than to shag anyone he knew professionally, but apparently Aggie didn't think him that bright. "Six questions left, though i have half a mind to penalize you for that one."

"Hey, you never know - there's always that woman who does the filing for the LEOs down the hall," she teased with a grin.

"All right, who else would I know... Was she a Slytherin, then?"

"She couldn't handle me even if she were twenty years younger." It wasn't boasting, just matter of fact. Cade knew he could be...intimidating in the bedroom. Or a 'fucking monster' as he'd been called once. But he didn't take offense. He was the way he was and that's why he tended to go with women who weren't too picky.

"No, she wasn't," he said, coming back to the question at hand. "And she wasn't your year." He didn't have to give Aggie that, but he was feeling a little generous.

She nodded. It was true she couldn't have really seen the two together, but there were times when life surprised her - and a good Auror always discounted all possibilities to lead toward the proper answer.

So not Slytherin, and not in her year. Who else did that leave? She wasn't exactly very social anymore, though when her father was still alive, she'd act as his escort to various pureblooded gatherings. Lately, everyone she met was either a co-worker or a criminal.

She snorted. "She's not a quidditch player, is she?" Not that she thought one of them would give Cade a second, if even a first, look.

Cade actually smirked at Aggie. He could hear the dismissal in her voice and maybe he was a bit smug when he said, "Now that you mention it, she is. A rather good one at that." Really enjoying where this was going, Cade leaned back in his chair and propped his feet up on his desk. "Four left. Better make them count."

No way! Her mind was now completely derailed from getting details about the case and focused on finding out who it was Cade had shagged. Not Slytherin, and not her year, but someone she knew... Obviously must be someone in the same age range at least, if he made the point to say they weren't in the same year. There were only 3 that came to mind, and all of them had been Gryffindors. Ginny Weasley... never in a million years. Katie Bell... Aggie had heard rumours that she 'played on the other pitch'. Which left...

"You shagged Anglina Johnson?" She kept her voice low enough so that it wouldn't be overheard, but nothing could stop the utter shock in her voice.

"Not bad," Cade drawled, his smirk bordering on insufferable. "They're not just keeping you around to have something nice to look at after all. Now, are you satisfied or are you going to use up those last three questions?"

She playfully rolled her eyes. "Not that anyone spends much time looking, but it's nice to know my brains are of value."

She finished off her coffee and tossed it into the garbage bin, managing to land it in one. "Oh, I plan on using them. How about all at once?"

She lifted a hand and ticked off three questions as she asked them. "Are you going to shag her again? If not, why the bloody fuck not? And if so, can you get me tickets to the Harpies' opening game?"

"Don't know, that's not a yes or no question, and no." Cade rattled off his answers like checking off a list, simply and to the point. But still with that same smug amusement, and he couldn't help it really. Recalling his encounter with Angelina did wonders for his mood. IT had been nothing short of thrilling and he couldn't deny that he wouldn't mind another go with her. The trouble, of course, would be convincing Angelina.

The most important question had been the last one, and that was the one he said 'no' to. "You mean you're not even willing to try and get me quidditch tickets?"

She pouted and stood up, slamming her hands down on his desk. "Well what bloody good is it to shag a quidditch player if you can't get tickets out of the deal?"

With a sniff, she stalked off in a comedically overdramatic fashion.

Cade blinked at Aggie's reaction, but merely shrugged. "Clearly it's been a while for you if you think all shagging's good for is quidditch tickets. That or whoever you've been with didn't know what the hell they were doing," he said with his usual bluntness, but Aggie knew him well enough to know he didn't mean to be offensive. He just was.

It was just as well she left him as suddenly as she'd known up, though. He did still have work to do and as welcome as the distraction had been, getting these notes written up was more pressing. Dropping his legs down from his desk, Cade flipped open the folder he'd been perusing before Aggie showed up and got back to it.
