Alicia'd had better days. First had been the nightmare again, then several appointments during the course of the day which hadn't quite allowed her to catch up on lost sleep. There had been a few moments when she had considered owling George to reschedule, but in the end, she had decided that she would not let whatever this was affect her life. She'd stopped by Mel's apothecary in Hogsmeade after doing a massage for the keeper of the Tutshill Tornados and picked up a pepper-up to help keep her awake and aware during the evening to come.
But now she was in the loo of her flat, touching up her lipstick and smoothing over the curves of her dress as she waited for George to arrive. The little satin bolero she wore helped keep her halter from seeming too revealing, thank Merlin, though she could just imagine her friends playfully chiding her for wearing such a flashy shade of pink.
She'd decided to leave her hair loose - it was less work that way - and sighed as she looked at her reflection. Yes, there were butterflies in her stomach - rather silly, really, since not only had she known George for over a decade, but he'd already seen her nearly naked. Perhaps it had simply been far too long since she'd had an actual date. Yes, that was it.
She heard the knock and stepped out into the main room, slowing to grab her black wrap and pull it on over her shoulders before opening the door with a smile, that turned into a gasp of surprise as she saw the flowers in George's hand. Her eyes momentarily strayed to take in the rest of him, which looked rather sharp and well put together, particularly the trousers that seemed to hug his hips a little too well...
She blushed and lifted her eyes to his. "Hey," she said, fingering a touch of fringe on her wrap. "You're on time - an excellent sign."
