Entry tags:!status: complete, ^date: november 09 2003, character: alicia spinnet, character: george weasley

Who: Alicia Spinnet and George Weasley
What: Blowing off some steam for George, Work for Ally!
Where: Honeypot ;)
When: November 9, 11:30 PM
Rating: Well, it's at the Honeypot, so not worksafe!!

George had had a long week, and a long day on top of that. And Sunday was supposed to be his easy day. Even though it was technically his day off, he'd spent all afternoon at work after seeing Ally. More employees needing to take the day off meant he had to pick up the slack. He understood, but it was getting a bit old. He hadn't had a day off since the nightmares started, it seemed so many of his employees were afflicted by them. At least he wasn't, so he was capable of picking up the slack, but he was getting exhausted. Work had been crazy all day, he really couldn't bring himself to complain about good business, but he was going to have to hire some people who weren't suffering from the stuff going on, just so he could take a break. But, of course, that was why he'd ended up here tonight, after staying late after closing for restock. His run in with Ally and their serious conversation earlier had left him realizing just how lonely he was, and while this really wasn't a solution, it would tide him over for another week of this kind of hell work. So here he was, standing in front of the Honeypot strip club. He smiled a little, it had been a while since he'd walked into this specific building.

When he got inside, he looked around to see that there was a nice crowd formed already. That didn't surprise him, it was probably for the same reason his business had gotten so good lately, everyone needed a reprive from reality right about now. He headed to the bar and got a drink before turning his attention to the act currently taking place on the main stage. A leggy brunette was dancing, wearing a very sexy healer costume, he already started to feel better watching her. He picked up his drink and moved to a seat closer to the stage so he could enjoy the show fully. He sat down and cheered with the other blokes around him as she danced, waiting for her to disrobe.

George was pretty sure she was going to shoot him down for a moment, the way she asked those questions. "Call it a wake up call," he said. "Look Als, it's not like I just started fancying you, I just assumed I didn't have a shot. Until that kiss, now I'm thinking maybe I was wrong."

Then she agreed, and he let out a sigh of relief, not realizing how much he wanted her to agree to it. "Right, 6, sounds bril. I'll figure out some place to go, somewhere nice. You have preferences on types of food?" He'd offer to cook for her, since his mum had taught him a great deal about that, and he wasn't half bad. But he had a sneaking suspicion that she'd take that as an excuse to get her into bed. And while he was completely interested in getting her into bed, he was kind of interested in possibly keeping her there too. He hadn't been lying when he said he was just as sick of the one night stands.

It warmed her to think it wasn't a sudden thing. That probably meant that he really had been enjoying the view during their little game earlier. Did the poor boy really think she wouldn't have given him a chance had he asked nicely? She was just so used to everything he said being a joke that she hadn't even seen his serious side until today.

"Why don't you surprise me," she offered. "I like a bit of everything, so I'm sure wherever it is, I'll enjoy it. Just let me know if I have to dress up or anything."

She stepped forward, placed her hands on his chest, and leaned up for one more kiss before playfully pushing him toward the curtain. "Now get your arse out of here. A girl's got to make a living, you know."

He always found her attractive at least, but she'd also always had a soft spot in his heart. Maybe it was from their Quidditch days, maybe it was something else, he didn't rightly know, but he didn't care either. And the last time she'd really seen him was probably before Fred had died, he'd been a completely different person then. Yes, he still joked around, but he'd lived a great deal more since his school days, he was much more serious than he used to be, and quite sick of being alone. Actually, he was pretty sure his mother was sick of him being along too, if for no other reason than because she worried her head off about him, even though he had recovered as fully as he could.

"Alright I will, and I think you should dress up at least a little, so that every other couple in the place will be jealous of how good we look together." he winked at her, and kissed her back, but she pushed him before it could become anything serious. He smiled at her again, in his usual George way and nodded. "Alright, fine, I'm gone, I think it's been an interesting enough night for me anyways, should probably get some sleep before opening up tomorrow."

"Exactly," she agreed as if that had been her point all along. "I can't have you falling asleep at work tomorrow, or else you'll blame it all on me."

Yet she was unable to let him leave the booth without one more tease. She met his eyes and sucked on her bottom lip a moment before she spoke. "Oh, and what I said about my bra earlier still goes."

She stepped past him and touched the curtain, smiled at him over her shoulder, then slipped through and back into the crowd.

George wouldn't really mind falling asleep at work, he deserved it at this point, but she was right, he should probably not fall asleep tomorrow. If nothing else it would make finding a restaurant more difficult.

He laughed as she left the booth. "Well you'll know where to find it if you change your mind," he called after her before following her out. He wondered how many of the dancers had ever been asked on a date in one of those booths before, that was probably a pretty new one. Still, he looked over his shoulder at where she had gone one last time before he headed for the door.
