Adrian recognised that tactic, but only because his mother employed it just as well, though she was frequently a good deal less subtle about it herself. And just as he often did, Adrian accepted because he disliked being unnecessarily rude to someone, especially a woman. His mother had instilled that in him just as much as she'd instilled a hatred form her tactics in general.
