For a moment, Jasper lost his train of thought when Bianca leaned closer. How had he not noticed how long her lashes were before? How clear her eyes? No, this was a horrible time for him to think such things and without thinking, he shook his head slightly to clear it.
It took a moment for Bianca's words to register and Jasper's hands tightened around hers briefly. "I'm sorry. I can't imagine how horrible the war must have been for someone with your abilities. And for it to be happening again...Is there nothing that can be done? To help or maybe suppress at least the worst of them? Or maybe..." Jasper wasn't sure he was in an position to be making suggestions, but he pressed on. "Maybe you should go to the Ministry with what you've seen. It could be important." He wasn't even sure the Ministry would take her seriously, but it was something.
Jasper caught the direction of Bianca's gaze then and an embarrassed flush swept up his face. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, pulling his hands away. "I didn't mean to be so rude." His fingers curled in on themselves, feeling curiously empty.
