The first of many days on the case
Characters: Adrian and Neville
Setting: Saturday November 1st, at around 3 pm
Summary: The aurors go through Harry's files and personal effects, and generally tackle the case.
Rating: Work safe.

As much as Adrian already suspected whatever Potter had been working on had in some way had something to do with his death, he approached the case as open-mindedly as possible. He was working with Neville, something he was grateful for, because he respected the other Auror's diligence. Neville's closeness to Harry - enough to know his general thoughts, feelings and habits, but not so close he was crippled by conflicted interest as Weasley might have been, meant to Adrian, that was was a perfect person to partner him on the case. He could handle some of the more objective aspects, while Neville could provide the sort of insight that came from knowing the victim well.

Adrian hadn't had much sleep the night before and he certainly didn't expect much tonight. He was dressed comfortably: slacks, a pale button-down shirt, and grey jumper, with no tie. He did hope to drop by an apothecary and lay in a new store of wit-sharpening potions and sleeping draughts for those times when he had the time to sleep but not the desire. But at the moment he was more focused on going through Harry's personal effects, at least those that were in the office. He felt the more personal items, those in Harry's home, might better be handled by Neville. He diligently recorded each item, setting aside ones that he expected might require further investigation. He was most interested in Potter's notes. In the process he discovered Potter's journal, similar to the one he himself had. Potter had apparently left it in his desk rather than take it home the day before. "You may wish to look through this journal," he said, handing it over to Neville. "If there's anything hexed private in there, we might need to break the hexes in case there's something of import."

Adrian expected they'd have to have help from Harry's two best friends during the course of the investigation, for the more personal side of things. Ron Weasley wasn't allowed officially on the case, but Adrian was certain that he'd offer plenty of insight into what Harry had been up to lately outside the office.

Adrian's head jerked up at the mention of a spot followed by dreams. "Spot? What do you mean?" He asked the question carefully, without seeming too suspicious about it. His mother had a spot and had been having nightmares. the two things seemed to have made their appearance at the same time. He wondered now if she wasn't alone in that. Had Harry been suffering nightmares as well?

Adrian didn't really think it had anything to do with his murder, but He had to track down and eliminate anything rather than dismiss it as unimportant.
