I don't know was the most honest answer Hermione could have expected. It fit her feelings perfectly at the moment. To say everything was fine would be a complete and utter lie. But honestly, who wanted to hear laments of sorrow when they were dealing with sorting out their own feelings.
Hermione had no words. There was nothing to say. All her hopes rested in the idea that this was some sick prank. That perhaps something was going on with the case that had required Harry to become an undercover agent thus requiring his death. But the look on Ron's face had told her that couldn't be the case no matter how much she wished it to be.
She did the only other thing she knew to do at a time like this. Hermione wrapped her arms around Ginny and hugged her tightly.
