Livid did not even begin to cover what Sirius was at the current moment. His vision was blurred by red as he finally caught up to the rat. He was already a condemned man. The warrant for his arrest had went out hours ago. So far he'd managed to evade the Aurors since he hadn't used any magic. He couldn't believe they thought him to be a Death Eater, that they thought he would've betrayed James and Lily. They didn't know him. No one, except for James, Remus and Peter had known him.
The rat was going to pay, and dearly.
Wormtail had thought that the busy Muggle street would stop Sirius, but it infuriated him more. Fueled by his hate he pulled his wand out, keeping it to his side as he followed a good distance behind Peter, weaving in and out through the crowd. Grey eyes narrowed as Peter started to cross the street. This was Sirius' only chance.
"Wormtail!" Sirius yelled, causing the other to stop dead, and turn slowly around to face him. Cars on the road stopped, or avoided the two men standing still in the middle of the street. Horns blared, spoken curses flying through the air as the upset motorists rolled their windows down to see what was going on.
"You." Sirius snarled, striding closer to Peter, wand pointed at the other. "You took everything dear away from me. Now, you're going to pay!" He flicked his wrist, planning on doing nothing more than a stunning spell so he could cart Peter to Aurors to prove his innocence. It was at this time he noticed the smirk on Peter's face, eyes flicking down to Wormtail's hand as he flicked his own wrist, causing blood to splatter on the pavement, and he murmured a spell that Sirius couldn't hear over the blaring horns and yelling. No... Sirius thought, and cast the stunning spell anyway.
There was a loud explosion, people cried out at the sudden impact, and then they began to scream. The last thing that Sirius remembered was flying back from the force, and he thought he saw a brown spot of fur scurrying away. He landed with a thud, the breath knocked out of him for a moment and his vision blurring as he stared up.
All hope for clearing his name was gone. The Aurors were surely on their way by now.
Closing his eyes, he began to chuckle, the sound increasing until it was that of a mad man. Opening his eyes he blinked a few times to focus, the laughter dying on his lips. Slowly he sat up, placing a hand to his forehead as a wave of dizziness hit him. "Where the bloody hell am I?" He asked aloud, looking around the foyer of a mansion. His eyes swept over to an ornate fountain, watching as the gate door slowly slid shut with a click. He didn't touch a Portkey, and Wormtail wasn't good enough to do any magic like this.
