I don't know how many of you have been reading about everything that's been going on in Brooklyn, but it looks like the Sons of the Serpent have been targeting a bunch of immigrant-owned stores and restaurants are targeted in. I've been checking up on it for the last few days. Listening to the police blotter. Talking to local businesses. Trying to figure out if anything's being done, but so far, the police have turned up a big old goose egg, and it doesn't look like the Avengers have taken any steps either.

I think it's time for the Young Avengers to step in and see what we can dig up that the police couldn't.

I'm surprised the media hasn't tried to cover this whole pawn shop jewelry heist thing as another "dangerous teen trend" yet. God knows we heard enough about those jelly bracelets.

Have you guys been paying attention to what's been going on in Brooklyn?

I'll come right out and say that I don't want to seem unappreciative of New York Senator, Robert Mulligan's statements. I understand that it means a lot, from a political standpoint for him to come out in favour of protecting mutants, our interests and our rights, but I'm also moved to make a few things very clear.

What we don't need, and don't want, is someone else telling us that we deserve rights, because quite frankly, it should be a no-brainer. We are here, we exist, and we have been doing whatever we can to help society in every way that we are capable.

Senator Robert Mulligan's time would, I think, be better spent supporting the efforts that we have already made towards human and mutant equality, instead of deciding he has the authority to decide what we need for us. Because we've been at this a lot longer, and we've been working a lot harder -- without the political motivation to stay relevant or gain individual publicity.

So from where I'm standing, it's difficult not to question his sincerity and his devotion to these theoretical rights he seems so keen on preaching about.
