Who: Kylee Evans + npc What: Two pounds of pressure in the wrong direction When: At some point following This thread Where: CORE HQ
The further the battle had progressed, the more Ky could feel herself slipping into the background of her own mind, using Ollie as a shield--or letting him use himself--to put some objective distance between herself and what was happening around her. It was Oliver's righteous indignation she'd felt at Collins' getting shot as a result of what he perceived as recklessness on Ansley's part. There would be time to reconcile herself with the fact that she'd just shot some people later.
They'd lain down cover, swept the area to make sure there we no more lurkers before leaving Mike and Ainsley, and then found a medic who was already on her way up to answer the radioed distress call. Pointing her in the right direction, Ky proceeded the opposite way, intending to regroup with the others or to find a better vantage point to shoot her trick arrows.
She'd just reached the next floor, only to be jumped by a woman about her own height, and dressed in head-to-toe ninja black. She remembered Ollie laughing wryly in the back of her head--or was it the front?--at the thought that some chick would get the better of them, and then pain as one black-gloved fist came down on their shoulder. They shifted, raising an arm to block, but the clavicle was one of the most vulnerable bones in the human body, and it only took two pounds of pressure to crack.
Ollie took over then, blinking involuntary tears from Kylee's eyes and gritting her teeth. He sidestepped, instinctively channeling the momentum of ninja-woman's strike into an arm bar and a throw, effectively rendering the woman unconscious on the floor. Through the pain, Kylee's own voice quipped in the back of their shared mind, What was it you were saying about the lone ranger?
