Jeff was, to put it bluntly, exhausted. He had double the number of cases, in recent weeks, than he'd had in his career at the agency. He'd been getting wicked cases of jet lag traveling back and forth to visit Daniel in Iraq, Ava had been particularly fussy for some reason. Even so, he didn't really mean the glare he leveled at the door when he heard the knock. He took a second to put on a good face, before standing to open the door.
"Oh, hey, come on in," He gave the man a tired smile, stepping back to let Adam in. He knew it wasn't one of his cases, but he had been pitching in with anyone he could, lately. To feel more like he was actually doing something.
