Asylum-Wide (these apply to both guests and members)
Respect one another. No flaming. No drama. There are plenty of places on the web where you can brangle to your heart's content. This is not one of them, this is a place for friends and fun.
Keep it PG-13 clean in the public areas, including sigs and icons.
No spam. Not in sigs, not in icons, not in posts, not in comments. Not anywhere.
Characters
You may have as many characters as you can keep up with. Keeping up with means each must be in at least one thread and must be active in that thread.
As different threads move at different speeds, the definition of active may vary, but as a general rule you should post within 24 hours of your turn coming up. Posting shouldn't be a chore and running late every now and again will not result in fiery bolts from the heavens, but consistently holding up people rping with you is unfair to them and may lead to your character being placed in the Orphanage.
Each character must have a separate account. The account name and display name should be recognizable as belonging to that character. First name, last name, first and last name, code name, character nickname, are good. xX_sexxyhuggs123_Xx is definitely not.
Characters must be canon to Batman or the wider DCU and playable, or adapted to be playable, in the realistic Nolanverse. In other words, no mutants, aliens, supernaturals, gods, demons, etc. Character creation guidelines may be found with the bio form here here.
It isn't mandatory, but players are strongly encouraged to maintain thread trackers in their journals for each of their characters. They let players keep track of which threads a character is in, make it easier to get them together for scenes, and help keep continuity from getting hopelessly tangled.
Play
Do not post for a character in the rp asylum until that character has been approved.
No god-modding or power gaming. Everybody should know this, yet it's always in the rules anyway. So there it is.
There is no required word count. The only hard minimum is enough-to-move-the-scene-along. Creativity and detail in addition to that are good and most welcome, but nobody should be stuck having to cram in dozens of adjectives and extraneous irrelevancies just to pump up "'Sure,' he said," to an arbitrary 400 words.
What is required is a serious effort at proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spacing in posts, post titles, and post headers. This is a literate rp. Everybody makes typos or minor errors now and then, but not all the time. Also, if you feel compelled to title posts things like "d r e a m s {of} STEEL f.o.r.g.i.v.e.n.e.s.s." then this isn't the game for you.
You may not kill or permanently cripple any player's characters, even your own, even with permission.
Play is by game week. Posting format guidelines are simple and may be found here.
