Hello hello! Bonjour!

My name is Shae and I've played with some of you before! It's great to see familiar faces and new faces too. :D I have Alene Moret here, who is a fairly down on her luck former-high-society darling from France. She came over to the States with her ~one true love~ who happened to be a big old con man who robbed her of her money and left her to fend for herself.

In fending for herself, she found herself selling sex for money and was told to seek out the carnival for safety and a job, so...here she is! I obviously need to run a thread with her getting here and asking for a job, but this lovely lady will be working in the hootch tent and selling her 'wares' elsewise.

She's a bit arrogant at first meeting because she's shy and she isn't going to take to being called a whore well, so...I can't wait to play opposite you guys!! <3

And this is Allie with part two of the carnival's new snake charming duo, Violet Wheatley - otherwise known as Sister Serpent. She's very glad her sister Rose said hello first, because she feels like that excuses her from doing so. Tough luck, Vi.

In many ways, she's her sister's complete opposite - she might not seem that friendly on the outside, but deep down she's not really a bad person. She's the musical part of the act, and works as a musician on the side, but she tends to stay fairly quiet. She has no objections to people and wouldn't mind having some friends, but she feels like she just can't trust herself with them - you see, her sound manipulation abilities come equipped with a sonic scream, and she doesn't have the best control of her emotions.

Hi, kittens! Haley again, bringing you a Miss Rose Wheatley, one half of the new snake charming duo 'Mistress Medusa and Sister Serpent'. She shares the act with her twin sister Violet. They have just joined the carnival, so connections are zilch at this point.

Rose is a very sweet person on the outside, and more than a little twisted on the inside. She lets that part of her personality show more during her second job working as a prostitute, a profession she isn't at all unused to. However cruel her hand may be during amorous encounters, she strives to be as accommodating as possible when dealing with others on a more regular basis.

Her ability is poison generation, and she doesn't care for using it, but it does the trick when she needs it to. As she doesn't have the best grip on her power, don't be surprised if any character that interacts with her during an off-moment comes away with a small sniffle or cough.

Helloooo, lovelies! This is Haley again, it's a sickness, introducing my newest addition to the family. Rusty Nelson is a former boxer and businessman from St. Louis, recently retired from the world of normalcy to pursue a career in something a little more eclectic. He is a medium, and has been aware of his ability since childhood. It has gotten him into heaps and heaps of trouble, as you can imagine, and being able to talk about it freely without fear of being judged is something he's still adjusting to.

He's never really not being pushed or prodded at by a spirit or entity wanting to make contact or pass along a message, so he tends to space out and go on a sort of mental 'lock down' from time to time. He works very hard to keep his messages and 'visitors' positive, but an occasional nasty thing will slip through. When that happens, he'll try to seclude himself as much as possible -- unfortunately for him, the change in temperament will still be easy to pick up on, especially to those prone to empathy.

He also works as a roustabout, because even though he is a gentle giant, he is still perfectly capable of laying down the law. He's been part of the carnival for a few months, but he's a private person and would have done more one-on-one work so he wouldn't necessarily know everyone's names. Or, because he does have a tendency to be forgetful, he might have learned a name at some point but can't quite place it when he comes across them again. Only recently has he emerged and started to become more social, now that he's adjusted to the place.

Oh hi guys, it's your friendly neighborhood idiot, Rae, with yet another character. And she's a girl character, too, 'cuz I can totally play those, uh-huh. Meet Cameron, a former gun moll now on the run from the law. She'll be hiding out with the carnival and working in the kootch show. Her secondary role will be shill (because Tiff kindly explained it and it is seriously the EASIEST JOB EVER ZOMG).

Helloooo, all! This is Haley, bringing you yet another kiddie to play with: Miss Jolene Hastings, Illustrated Lady and gofer. Her personality is that of a very ornate feline -- sneaky, predatory and affectionate on her own terms. She enjoys the good things in life, like cigarettes, fast women, and the occasional drink... not necessarily in that order. She doesn't possess a supernatural ability, but she's a swell artist and will happily draw something up for someone that wants a personalized sketch. More can be learned about her here.

So.. umm.. Hello fellow friends and players! Tis I, Jessica! I do believe I know a small sprinkling of you, but for the most part, I'm the new person around these parts. I have Emily here, also known by her stage name, Miss Evie. She's a fire dancer with fire manipulation as her special ability (that not a lot of people know about due to self consciousness and her basically being pretty secretive about herself). She's been with the Czerwinski's after running away from her uncle's super lame circus when she was 12, so she probably knows quite a few people. Whether or not she actually likes them and if they like her is a different thing. As it was said earlier, she's pretty secretive when it comes to talking about herself and generally, she doesn't really speak all that often to begin with, so.. yeah. Due to that and the fact that she stares kind of almost like a creeper, she tends to rub people the wrong way and give off the impression that she's a bit on the rude side.

I'm terrible at intros though and since it looks like this is going to be a little on the long side, I'm going to cut it short and guide you guys over to her bio which is here. I'm hoshirules on AIM if anyone wants to plot or chat and I look forward to playing with everyone! I've heard good things. ;)

Guess who totally sucks at sticking to character limits. ... LEE DOES! Fifth and finally (REALLY, I TOTALLY MEAN IT THIS TIME) is Guy Sothern, your brand new resident Lizard Man. Yup - scales and all. Plus he comes with the ever so convenient power of animal communication, which is good, considering how sucky he is at human communication. He's a month shy of 24 and will be coming over from another carnival this week. He got forced into the life when he was 12, which made the already sarcastic boy even more sarcastic and defensive then ever. Also, if you smack talk his mama, he will throw every pacifist notion out the window to rip your lungs out. He's quirky and a bit off-putting, but he does like people. Meet your not-so-new talent scout! This is Justin Ignace, frequently shortened to just J. He was born in the carnival, his family traveled with them until he was ten, and then his parents decided to try settling in one place. He became a police officer, ran into some problems when his morals didn't match up with the way he was supposed to handle situations, and decided it was more than time to come back home. He's been back for about eight years, except when he's out bringing in new acts that he's discovered or stolen. He's just catching up to them this week after a successful find, right in time to help out when everybody starts getting sick. He's neurotic, obsessive, and a whole mess of quirks rolled up into one person. More info here for those who'd like to get a closer look.

Connections welcome! He's been around for a while, so those who have been here long term would probably be acquainted with him... and some who have been with the carnival for life might even remember him as a kid, if they were old enough before his family left!

Hello, kittens! This is Haley, here to bring you a swell new guy by the name of Howard McCabe. Howard is known as "Macabre McCabe", thanks to his very frequently gruesome Geek/Glass Eating act. He loves doing things for shock value -- the more disgusted someone is with his work, the more he feels like he's accomplishing something. He thrives on any kind of attention, no matter if it's good or bad. In fact, Howard prefers to make a bad impression... that way, he's a lot more likely to stand out in someone's mind. He isn't really a nice guy, and he doesn't have the motivation or desire to change his ways. In addition to his sparkling personality, he is very intelligent and perceptive, which means not much slips by him unnoticed.

Howard has been with the carnival for a year, and he's a social creature (to the dismay of many), so he'd have a pretty good grasp on who everyone is and what their roles are. Hi, everybody! This is Allie with character number four (AND FINAL), LEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINS Leroy James Janks, better known as Jimmie. He's a recent recruit, from a long string of carnivals before this one, and he's bringing a body piercing act to the table - or, rather, stage - as The Human Pincushion. He also does a private, backstage show for special customers, one that involves slightly more private piercings than he performs on stage. He's not the friendliest guy in the world, not entirely without reason, but I'll let you read more about that in his app if you're interested. Since he's a newbie he obviously won't have any connections within the carnival yet, but I'm open for future connections and ones from his past!

And also, I was making myself a Midway station on Pandora, and I was considering adding in theme songs for all the different characters. If you have any you'd like to share for your kiddos, I'd love to throw them in! Not necessary for them to be songs from the '30s, though it's going to be a very largely '30s based station... and I'll share the link to it with anyone who's interested!

Hey all you people! Lee here with my fourth (and final, really, I mean this) character. Say hello to Benjamin Kelly, your brand new knife juggler! He's really quite something - he's well known for being able to juggle knives impossibly high and fast. Having magnetism proooobably helps, of course. He used to work in the same circus as Madi before it fell to pieces and has been living in Chicago ever since. Well. Until right now since he's about to be hired. He's a really open and friendly guy, always looking to help out, etc. until he has one of his 'spells.' Dealing with melancholia, now known as clinical depression, is never easy. But he tries to keep this on the down low; let's see how long this lasts. Profile is here for more information. I'd love just about any kind of plot, so hit me up!

It's Ash again, and in case you didn't notice, I dropped Wolf Girl a while ago and now I'm replacing her with this guy.

This is Emmett. He's a Scots-Irish bastard, but let don't let his gruff, surly, dirty exterior fool you. He's got a heart of....silver? Maybe bronze. There's definitely no gold in there. Maybe one nugget deep, deep, deep down. Emmett likes cars and booze and talking about nothing so he's pretty chummy. I needed at least one even character so I don't feel so bipolar all the time :U

Emmett has a thick Scottish accent that I'm probably going to fail at writing and is going to end up looking like a combination of Scots, Irish, and Cockney accents.

Emmett is also friends with Walt (aka a tool for safely exploring his backstory).

This is Ari and this is my final pup. This is Stanley, he's been with the group for 11 years, but he left recently for just over a year and is now back. Ostensibly he left to hold down a job that then closed, but the truth is, he went home to try and help his family out. He's jut now returning and will be taking Michael's former position as sword swallower.

Feel free to be suspicious over how he got so good at this so fast as Michael had just started teaching him a few months before he left. Stan's ability is innate capability, which means when he wants to, he can learn skills about 10x faster than a normal person. He doesn't use this very often and he doesn't really know that he does it.

Despite having been with the carnival for as long as he has, Stanley really doesn't feel like he's part of it. He's very aware that he grew up in wealth and privilege and it left him feel like an outsider in his own mind.

HI GUYS. GUESS WHAT? IT'S SAM WITH ANOTHER CHARACTER ALREADY. (I can tell this might be a problem omg I love this game and you all. Ahem.)

This is Miriam Stiglitz. She's 17 and was recently sent packing from Germany for safety after some weird things started happening under Chancellor Adolf Hitler. The rest of her family (parents and four older brothers) is still in Berlin, where her father owns a furniture store that is failing, thanks to new Nazi racial policies. She was living in NYC and working in an awful factory job, making little money and very unhappy, so she left. Unable to find a job, she joined the circus as a musician -- Miriam is a piano prodigy and also plays the violin. She can pick up other instruments quickly, and has a beautiful singing voice. Her secondary job is dishwasher. Oh, yeah, Miriam also has the ability to manipulate pheromones, but she is totally uncomfortable with this "power" and doesn't like to use it. This ability can be used to control people to an extent, which makes her feel very uncomfortable. See her profile for more info on that.

Mim used to be really outgoing and friendly and easy-going, but the separation from her family and friends and being immersed in an unfamiliar culture has made her very withdrawn, shy, and reclusive. She is mostly fluent in English (though speaks with a thick accent and sometimes has trouble translating or thinking of words she wants) but will sometimes act like she isn't to avoid talking to people. However, with those that Miriam has let in, she never shuts up. It's only then that you can see most of her former self with only a shadow of this new girl. Because she doesn't speak with a lot of people or share information about herself with strangers, she is very mysterious and could be an easy target for rumors and gossip if anyone wants to take that on. ;)

I would really like a couple of very close friends for her to be able to open up with. Maybe someone to adopt her as a little sister figure (or child, depending on the age difference) who takes her under his/her wing. For long term plot... someone to find out what her ability can do and try to take advantage of her/trick her into using it for something maybe unsavory that she's uncomfortable with. OH HI. I'm Gabby and I should be in bed'm new here. Lee was talking this place up, so I had to join!

This is Audrey Huntington, a former Southern Belle-type who never really worked before her damned abilities got in the way of having a perfect life and family aaaaand she flounced from that life and hooked up with carnies. All in all, she's bubbly, outgoing, and likes to socialize and chat with people and is the sort who'd give someone the shirt off of her back if they needed it. She's also a little too naive, gullible, and prone to her emotions sometimes, but hey. When you can touch things (or, in some cases, people) and get visions that can go as far as causing physical responses and senses to be stimulated? You'd be a little whacky, jumpy, and worried too. Basically, she's a really odd mix of being a ball of sunshine and cheer and worrying about people/things/what she could potentially see next, because sometimes it can be pretty unpleasant.

Right now, she's working as carny's target girl (heeeeey) and picking up on that and doing the whole child care thing to earn her keep. And, you know, trying to learn how to do more physical labor and stop being so 'weak' to people.

It's Kelly again, and this here is character number two: SEBASTIAN. He's an awful little shit who just so happens to have an awesome talent for illusion. And a slight English accent ;P He'll be joining the carnival ASAP, taking up the role as magician extraordinaire! And, on top of that, he'll be helping with the petting zoo. WHAT PETTING ZOO, you might ask. WEREN'T THE ANIMALS GOBBLED UP OR SOMETHING?!? Not to worry! He'll be crafting imaginary animals that will look, feel and even SMELL real. All the petting zoo fun with none of the petting zoo mess!

So yeah...Seb is an evil shit, and that's the best way I can describe him. He's a menace and a terror, snickering and troublemaking like there's no tomorrow. On the flipside, though, he's a loving older brother to his four-year-old sister Sadie, so there's...that redeeming quality. Ahem.

Hi everyone! I'm Sam(antha) and the new kid on the block. I'm the education coordinator at a history museum in Upstate New York, where I was born and raised. I'm also currently trying to plan a wedding for next October, so you'll have to excuse me if my sanity decreases over the next few months. XD

Anyway, this little lady is Charlotte Belanger Laveau (a mouthful, I know), but she'll answer to Char, Lotte, or Red. She's a psychic and seamstress from New Orleans who inherited her ability from the daughter of the famous Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. Charlotte's been with the caravan for five years now, joining just after the stock market crash in 1929. So she's been around, and people know her.

Charlotte is... interesting. She's obstinate and opinionated and not afraid to let you know it, either. She has a deep connection to her Cajun/Creole roots and speaks Creole French fluently (which she tends to slip into when she's angry or on a tirade of some sort). She comes from a long line of powerful women and doesn't take any crap. Charlotte uses her body and sex appeal to manipulate and get what she wants, and she collects paramours like people collect stamps. But don't worry -- she is very loyal to and protective of her carnival family, and unless you purposely get on her bad side, she'll stand by you until the end. You can find more info here!

Hey, guys, this is Allie. It's funny how getting ready for school to start back takes up a lot more of my time than school actually starting back will. Obviously this introduction is late, but this is literally the first time I've had a chance to sit down at a computer aside from submitting them in the last couple of days. Just to make up for my lateness, I'm bringing you a BOGO.

First off, at dogearedmap, we have Lane. He's nobody special. Just a stowaway who is going to become Chance's personal gofer. He doesn't remember his life before the age of ten at all, and he's a little slow with certain things - brain damage is pretty much the opposite of awesome. He's literally just joining up, going with them when they leave Indiana and not a moment before. He's a pretty friendly guy, so if anybody needs a buddy, look him up. More here on him.

And behind door number two we have this lovely lady, who your kiddos will know as Patricia Whitworth - or possibly by her stage name, Patty Pistol. She's been your friendly neighborhood sharpshooter for a few years now, and would likely know or have slept with anyone who's been around for a while. Before she came to America and joined the carnival, she was Patrice Benoit, aka Le Fantôme, a fairly well-known assassin in France... but that's old news and completely unimportant, now isn't it?

Hello, all! I'm Haley, and I bring you Miss Eleanor Kendrick, equestrian and veterinarian of this lovely carnival. She's been with them for seven years now, breaking in and performing with her equine friends, as well as providing medical care when any animals fall ill. So your characters would most likely know her, at least in passing. She does tend to keep to herself, and she can be a little gruff, but that's no reason not to pester her! Actually, that should just give others more reason to pester Elle.

She focuses mostly on her work and doesn't allow much time for anything outside of that. It's difficult for her to connect to people on an intellectual level, but emotionally, she is very keen and knows when it's time to interfere or when to leave well enough alone. Compliment her on her performance, and she'll thank you kindly. Compliment her on her abilities with animals, and you'll have a friend for life.
