Who: Hanna, Emily and Spencer When: Wednesday evening, August 4th Where: Bendel's What: Hanna needs new clothes and two of her friends accompany her. Rating: I imagine it will be fairly low.
Hanna knew she was losing weight. It was hard not to know it when all of her clothes were suddenly too big, but she wasn't losing enough. Alison had started her on this... diet plan right after Thanksgiving, when Hanna had been sure she'd had more to eat than she should have had. She had hoped to lose enough weight by summer that she wouldn't be embarrassed wearing a bikini, but that hadn't been the case. Her next plan had been to lose enough weight by cheerleading try-outs, but since school was literally around the corner, she knew that she was failing once again.
But failing or not, she needed new clothes. She couldn't wait any longer and wear baggy clothes to school. She'd just have to buy more once she reached her goal. She never minded an excuse to go shopping anyway. And maybe trying on clothes that were a smaller size than she was used to wearing would give her the push she needed to keep losing weight. Because as encouraging as she had thought it would be... she was finding that wasn't the case. She was getting very discouraged.
It disappointed her that both Alison and Aria had bowed out of her little shopping trip. It seemed like a good thing for the group to do. They all needed new clothes for school anyway, didn't they? Sure, the others were all the same size they had been last year, but it was a new year. Some things went out of fashion and there was so much new stuff! Another reason shopping was so exciting. And at least she had Emily and Spencer to help her. They could tell her if stuff looked good on her or not. Though no one's opinion was as honest as Ali's.
She arrived first at Bendel's and stood near the door, waiting on her two friends.
