Lily's text hadn't really been a surprise, things did start to slow down this time of year, but it was pleasant. The one good thing about the seesaw of on again/off again, happy/pissed, was that when things were good they seemed really good. And if Lilly felt so inclined to make anything worth his while, well, he wouldn't stop her.

It wasn't a long drive from his house to hers, and it was even shorter if you didn't completely respect local traffic laws. In virtually no time at all, he's standing outside her door, ringing the bell.

She inserted a cigarette into her mouth and got a hard look by the bartender. "Sorry," she replied putting it back into its carton. Yet another reason she hated it here, it seemed as if she couldn't smoke anywhere.

She drowned down what was left of her food with a hearty gulp of beer and pushed her plate forward. The food had been good, but the place was stuffier than she'd hoped. No one was her age, though that was to be expected, the drinking age was higher here and she probably wouldn't see a lot of schoolmates while she was out.

It didn't matter, she just wanted to be alone, Katie was making her crazy. She couldn't even count the amount of times that Katie told her how much better her life could be if she tried. How many times she told her Naomi would no longer be a problem. She considered telling her sister the truth, but the longer this went on the harder it got.

She loved Naomi. Okay, maybe love was a bold statement, she hardly knew her. She wanted to know her, Naoli had never told anyone the truth, so she had to have feelings for her too, right?

As if it mattered anymore.

Finn decided to walk over, it was a nice day and while he wasn’t up for the beach he could definitely be convinced to get into a hot tub with her. There was something amazing about summer. Despite how hot Cheerios uniforms were they weren’t bikinis. Whoever invented the bikini was a genius. They were like underwear, sometimes smaller, and girls didn’t feel weird about walking around in them. Quinn, who wouldn’t let him get past first base was inviting him to see her practically naked, how could he say no?

He made his way up to Quinn’s apartment and let his mind wander. He made his way up the elevator and to Quinn’s door and let himself in. He thought about looking for her, but what if she was getting dressed? He didn’t want to walk in on her, that’d be skeezy. “Hey, Quinn!” He called as he wandered through the living room.

She left a stack of dresses in the dressing room, normally she would have made the effort to try to put them back herself, but she found herself left in a funk. She hadn't liked any of those dresses because they were nothing like her, she had tried on things her sister had picked out for her. Not her taste, besides, she doubted her dad would ever leave the house. Lizzy had stayed and watched Meg for exactly seven dresses before spotting some friends and telling her just to take them all. She didn't want them, she wanted to spend time with Lizzy. These dresses, they made her look like other girls. That back-less silver dress, she could see Lilly wearing that.

She didn't want to be Lilly. Yes, Lilly got all the the boys, boys that she usually wished she could have, but she wasn't jealous. Well, not really. She and Lilly were a totally different type of girl, some boys liked that. Wild girls who were in your face, flaunting what the good lord gave them. Meg knew she could never compete with girls like that. She didn't want to be that girl, one day someone out there would realize that Meg was the kind of girl they wanted. The kind of girl they wanted to marry.

She wandered over to makeup on her way out and sprayed some Chanel on her wrist. She smelled it and indicated toward a pale pink lip gloss. At least she wouldn't be going home entirely empty handed.

Patrick stood in the back, watching the band start their first song. It wasn't unusual to find him there. By now, he knew a lot of the staff by name. Although, Kat should have been there. She definitely would have made things more interesting. Toward the back, the lights were so dim that he could barely see anything to the sides of him.

As the first song finished and the lights brightened a bit, he noticed a growing crowed around the pool table. This is perfect. People were obviously taking bets on whoever was playing and Patrick definitely wasn't one to shy away from betting.
