Who: Serena & Blair
What: Dinner.
Where: The Plaza.
When: The night after their text conversation.
Rating: TBA.
The feeling was mixed when Serena left the hotel suite, their temporary sort of home until renovations were finished to her mother's liking. For the time being this was home, and while she missed her own room, her own bed and other things of that kind of comfort, she wouldn't say a word of it. As strange as being back felt, at least she was with her mother and Eric again. That had its benefits.
And she would be lying if she said she hadn't missed Blair. She had missed her fiercely, and there were two dozen half-finished letters thrown away somewhere as a tribute to all of the things she had wanted to say but couldn't, had tried to find the means to express and yet wouldn't be able to. The apologies she knew she owed, the reasons why, the admissions of guilt to things that went so much further than Nate and what had happened between them. But she could never finish any of them, and with each page that went crumpled into the wastebasket, Serena had felt worse.
She doubted that tonight would be the best time to come clean about everything that happened - the last thing she wanted to do was hurt Blair - but all she was thinking about now was seeing her best friend again. It was a selfish sort of desire, but that was just going to have to be all right for now.
Five minutes later Serena was escorted into the Plaza's expansive restaurant and settled comfortably into one of the high-backed booths. She passed on the offer of a wine listing and opted instead for iced tea while she waited for Blair.
