everyone makes something inedible at least a few times when they're learning to cook, tho.

That's a waste of food.

it's just part of the process. if nobody ever learns to cook, how do you expect to eat?

I can watch so I won't make mistakes.

there's nothing wrong with making mistakes while you learn something new. [...] unless you're some kind of prodigy, you'll still make mistakes.

Generally, I'd agree with you. I don't like wasting food.

i don't like wasting food either, i just think mistakes are bound to happen when you learn.

I could minimize them by observing.

What did you make first?

You have to start somewhere.

exactly. it's better to build up to it, anyway, instead of trying something massively hard and just wrecking it.

So I won't start at the tourtière.

it would def be a disaster if that was your first attempt at cooking, tbh. no matter how much watching you did.

I haven't baked anything either. It would be a learning experience.

baking's just as good as cooking. i think even watching someone cook something complicated is fun tho, even if you're not ready for it.
