He tapped his fingers on the table again, this time a little harder. His expression hardened slightly, his eyes still gazing off into the horizon. He clenched his jaw tighter as if it might stop him from telling her things she could simply use against him later on. What if he did tell her what happened? What then? Would she take that information to discover how best to end his life? Would she use it against him as a weapon later on? How could he take that chance? But how much did she know? What was the last thing she had heard about him?
Breathing out heavily, he turned his head to look at her. She was difficult to read and very good at hiding what she was feeling behind other emotions. She was an impressive manipulator, not that he would admit that out loud. So was she trying to manipulate him now? While she was good at reading people, he was too, so long as his ego wasn't getting in the way. He always knew other people better that himself.
"And why should I tell you?" he asked bitterly. "Why should I tell you when you might use those words as weapons against me?" he asked. "No... I refuse to be fooled" he added, shaking his head. There was a part of him that did wish to tell her what had happened. He understood that she was telling the truth when she said she wanted to enjoy a drink and talk. Maybe it was because right now, she was the closest thing to his brother he had near by. Still... his brother thought him dead. That would be an interesting conversation should Thor arrive in Preya.
