The last time Kotetsu was on anything remotely like a date, he was still a young, up and coming hero. He didn't even know if he should really take it as that, but he promised to repay a kindness if nothing else. Hawks taught him something, so he was taking him out to dinner. Nothing major to get worked up about. Though... he sort of wondered what sort of look Bunny might give him if he knew. Why did that even matter? Well...
"Aww, can't I go too? Pleeeeease?" Lying to Kaede was never something he liked to do and now he avoided it as much as possible. There wasn't any real reason not to tell her what he was doing. There was even a part of him that considered giving in to her demands. He knew she would just love getting to see him again. Kids. Girls. His almost teenage girl. It made him nervous. Tomoe was beautiful and Kaede no doubt took after her mother.
"Next time, alright, kiddo? I promise and I won't break it this time." That was something about Preya. It was easier to keep his promises to Kaede. There wasn't much other demand on his time either, besides checking in on the other kids. That might change a bit once the school got going, but not like when he was doing hero work full time. He did miss it some days, even if he was only a second stringer now. He just couldn't keep himself out of retirement. Or away from Bunny considering he came to some country no one ever heard of just to find him. Kaede was huffing at him, but he got a hug out of her anyway while he listened to his mother treating him like he was still a teenager himself. "Mom, calm down. It's a couple of hours with no chance of me getting sidetracked." Probably.
It would figure he was running late and traffic was a nightmare for one reason or another. "Here ya go, buddy." He was pretty sure it wasn't far from where they were locked in traffic, so he paid the driver and got out of the car. Dodging the incoming group of people on the sidewalk, he slipped behind the closest building. "It's sorta normal around here, right?" People using their powers. He pulled the mask out of the inside pocket of his jacket anyway, placing it over his eyes before activating his Hundred Power, just for a speed boost. Sure, he'd told people, mostly the kids, about his identity, but it was habit if anything. "I can make the most of a minute."
And he did, but still short of where he was supposed to meet Hawks when the blue glow faded away along with his power. "Just my luck..." The thought he should have mentioned he was running late didn't occur to him until he spotted the restaurant and he pulled his phone out to check the time. Hightailing it inside, he looked for the blonde, skidding into the seat across from him. "Sorry I'm so late! I'm almost surprised you waited."
