"Sorry... don't worry... I'm ok!" It was just classic Kotetsu, there wasn't much need for alarm. If Hawks spent more time with him, he'd see that he was just a klutz and a dork. Which probably had a lot to do with why no one took him all that seriously. If Antonio was here, he'd be giving him hell for this, he could hear him and Nathan now. Some flamboyant pep talk starting out with an exasperated 'Oh, honey!' When it counted, he could buckle up and, you know, act like he was in the top of the hero charts once. Or that he was in his mid-thirties. He was just taken off guard some there. Oof, it really had been awhile.
"I'm starting to think you're trying to flatter me." How the hero work shaped you all depended on the person. It could make or break you, they'd found out all about both sides of that coin. For him, well, he guessed a lot of it had to do with Tomoe. If he ever changed too much, she'd never forgive him. He had to be strong for them both. Here in Preya he would be able to do that in the way he always wanted to. More back on the current point, was he serious? "Getting lucky is a talent of mine," he paused and considered what he said with a shake of his head and a shrug. So maybe he was serious about that offer. He'd been called sexy and cute, definite stroke to his ego when Bunny acted like he still didn't know what he was doing. He couldn't help the bit of fondness he was already getting for the blonde.
"Hey, that's fair. They're better hot." He picked one up from his own plate to look at it, then over at Hawks with a smirk. "You cannibal," he teased with a chuckle, nodding some. "Oh yeah I made it for them the other night. It was a real hit." And the commentary from his mother was interesting in itself. It always was. "She didn't believe that I actually got a lesson at first. I made a side comment about patience going a long way and she smacked me with my hat. Great night." Just another night in the Kaburagi house.
Content with making idle chatter like that between wings where he more than likely made a bigger endearing dork of himself, Kotetsu asked about where Hawks was from and his work as a hero, etc. Getting to know you. And he offered the same. Talked about his friends and home. How nearly everything they did was televised and they were ranked by their points. Conversational bits to fill the time. "I was retired, er, guess I kinda am again, but I was doing lighter hero work after my near death experience. I'll tell ya about it sometime." He paused for a second, absently licking off his thumb. "I actually only came here looking for Bun...arnaby." Who didn't seem all that thrilled to have him here, to be honest.
"Is asking what brought you here too personal?" For some people it was, but it seemed a safe enough question.
