Whatever the cat looking thing was, Todoroki couldn't help but feel curious. Though, it didn't seem to share the sentiment, so he had to let it go. Perhaps, if given the chance, he could ask later.
He wanted to ask why, but decided that could wait. When prompted, he merely took a step back, waiting and watching until the flames came. His eyes widened slightly. It was definitely different than what he'd seen, especially from his father. It was never so, controlled, he guessed. It made him wonder if he could ever do something like that if he focused more on some kind of technique than sheer devastating power.
Still, he didn't move away from the backdraft of heat, only closed his eyes for a moment while he heard the distinct sizzle and cracking. Someone here could combat his ice. He'd have to remember that. Though, he wasn't sure if he held the same fireproof body that Todoroki did, that several people he knew of back home did.
He gave a small nod, shifting his weight slightly as he lifted a hand to his chin, pondering. "Were you born with that?" If he was, it was likely their worlds weren't too dissimilar. What that meant, though, he didn't know. He had a feeling Deku might be able to form some sort of conclusion about it, though. "I was with mine. You start learning to use it around preschool."
