Who: Evaan Verlaine and Open
Where: Limbo
When: Monday Night
What: Evaan has a case of the Mondays
Evaan was quickly learning that Mondays were the worst days. The cars were always packed tight on Mondays and invariably someone would lean on the emergency stop. She would have to leave her seat and push her way through the standing passengers and reset it before they could get moving again, all while they made comments about being inconvenienced. And as much as she disliked the rush, she found she disliked her supervisors even more. That day she made the mistake of taking her break at the main station and one of them cornered her in the break room. Of course, she was familiar enough with being dressed-down that she stayed silent and respectful while the older woman went on schedules and complaints, but she didn't pay much attention until her supervisor went quiet and she knew it was time to tell her what she wanted to hear. She would do better, she would pay better attention to the schedule, she would do her best to provide a better experience for the passengers, she said everything she was supposed to say and even thanked her supervisor for bringing it all to her attention.
The woman walked away happy. Evaan got back to work, quietly contemplating removing the governor on the rail engine as she drove just a little too fast.
When the clock finally freed her for the day, she was off like a shot. She went straight home to shower away the gunk and filth that always seemed to gather when on public transportation, then to have a well deserved nap. When she woke later and found her bottle of wine empty she made the decision to go out and have a drink 'like a normal person', instead of clearing out the nearest liquor store. Getting ready, she didn't bother with any intricate Alderaanian styles when it came to her hair, a simple ponytail suited her that day, as did her yellow jacket and black boots. Perhaps, she thought as she headed out, she should have made herself look a little more available, shown a little more skin if she wanted to meet someone. But as she stepped inside Limbo and headed for the bar, she decided that right then all she really wanted was a drink.
