"So you said, but they can't be very good agents if they couldn't see past your mask," she said, smiling. "I like you in love. It suits you; you seem to know exactly what to say and do lately." She rested her head against his shoulder. "Thank you. I don't know what I would have done without you tonight." She would have lost it, not that she hadn't already, but he'd been the one thing to keep her focused on something other than crying and how horrible everything was.
"Enough? I didn't know that I stopped doing that." She smiled as he put the ring on, and then hugged him. "I want you here if you're okay with it." She kissed him again. "We'll aim for the big wedding, but if I have to choose between that and you, I'm choosing you, because you're perfect, too, and I'm not going to let a government take you from me."
Savannah nodded. "I know he does, and most days I can put up with his inability to speak English, but today wasn't the right day, and about the wedding-" She shrugged. "I don't know what he wants to do. I'm not worrying about it tonight. I can't."
