Entry tags:*complete, 2011 06, character: dominic vail, character: sam hanna, dead: jenna hanna

RP: Dom and Jenna
Who: Dom and Jenna
Where: Team center and possibly Dom's house
When: June 1 , 2011
Summary: Let's try this, but without parents

Dom hated that things were weird with Sam, but they had nothing wrong, and while Jenna should have told them, Sam had overreacted.  If he'd been this worried, he should have texted her or called her.  However, he knew better than to try and argue that point.  Not if he wanted to survive.  At least things got better when they worked in teams.  There was no Sam or Callen, and while Morgan had told them that next time, they should inform both him and Callen, he let it go after that.

The afternoon went by pretty uneventfully, and when they were done, he approached Jenna.  "Wanna come over for a while?" he asked her. "I promise to have you home by dinner," he said, teasingly.  "Or we'll get Morgan to call them and say you're staying over for dinner."  This was almost like dating back on the bases, where every father had a gun and knew how to use them.

Jenna wrinkled her nose when Dom teased her and stuck her tongue out at him, just because she could. "You just see if I try and find out what happened to you when you disappear." She told him shaking her head.

The corner of her mouth quirked with a small smile when Dom explained why book shelves could be more important than a bed. "And everyone knows disorganized books are the first step on the road to disaster." She said sagely before grinning. And then Dom started being logical about the whole room situation, his point mirroring her reasons for not having done anything with the room. "I know I should do something with it, Savannah even offered to go shopping with me to get some things for it -" She traced the titles of a few of the comic books on Dom's shelf. "It was easier to think we were going back soon when we first got here, and now - it's like giving up, getting new curtains and maybe painting the walls, getting books and making it a space that looks like it really belongs to me." She shrugged. "I know I'm just being stubborn about it."

It was fun teasing Dom, she wasn't dumb, but she was definitely the sort of person who left the important things, like inter-dimensional travel and nano-structures to the people who loved learning and studying those sorts of things. Just like she stuck with the things she loved to do. It worked out best for everyone that way. "Ah a man who keeps his past mistakes on hand, I like that."

But she liked better sitting beside Dom on his bed, and then when he kissed her. "Yeah, I'm all right." At least with things with her dad. "I - he wasn't around to do that whole over-protective dad thing when I was younger, I guess he needs to do a little of that now." And she'd certainly given him a reason to do just that.

"I'd love to, but I doubt I'd be able to see... or breathe," he continued, laughing. He didn't actually think that Sam would kill him; it'd be too obvious. "On second thought, he'd have Callen do it while he has dinner with you. They are sneaky that way."

Dom gasped. "Disorganized books? Are you crazy? How would I find the right book when I have an epiphany while playing Corona. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Marines!" he said shaking his head.

He stopped joking and squeeze her hand. "It's not giving in; it's accepting the facts. Whether you put curtains or not isn't going to change the speed with which we will find a way home, but with limited access to the research, no supercomputer to run possible models, we are talking years. If we are lucky. Not that anyone has bothered asking us. They are spending so much time training, that I think they forgot that we need to research this."

Dom snorted. "If you were younger, he wouldn't have holstered the gun." He squeezed her shoulder. "I know I'm from a different dimension and this isn't the same person, but this isn't over-protective. When he spends weeks punching a bag and training until you want to die, because there is no way you can last one more second, that's still not over-protective. When he becomes completely irrational, that's over-protective. You have a long way to go."

"You have clearly put in far too much thought about how my dad might possibly have you killed one of these days." Jenna said. And maybe they were joking but the little she knew about her dad and what he did, she thought he probably could do exactly what Dom said - right down to having G be the one to kill someone to take suspicion of himself.

She laughed at the sound Dom made, "Clearly they need to add a training course on the importance of keeping your books organized. No one ever mentioned the perils of break throughs in the middle of video games to us."

Threading her fingers with Dom's Jenna sighed while he said what she all ready knew - the things that people didn't talk about, but it didn't change the fact that if they got a chance to go home at some point it was going to be a long time before it happened. "No one seems to want to say that though, it's all just a temporary thing - we'll get out of here soon enough." She sighed, maybe that was just her, or wishful thinking on the part of others. Though she thought maybe they were all coming to realize this wasn't just something they could wait out. "That's the point though isn't it? To keep us busy? So we're focused on something other than being pulled out of our lives and stuck here?"

"If I were younger he really might have shot you." Jenna said with a smirk. "Ah so you're telling me I have a lot to look forward to on the road to an over-protective father?" She asked him with a grin.
