Entry tags:*complete, 2011 06, character: dominic vail, character: sam hanna, dead: jenna hanna

RP: Dom and Jenna
Who: Dom and Jenna
Where: Team center and possibly Dom's house
When: June 1 , 2011
Summary: Let's try this, but without parents

Dom hated that things were weird with Sam, but they had nothing wrong, and while Jenna should have told them, Sam had overreacted.  If he'd been this worried, he should have texted her or called her.  However, he knew better than to try and argue that point.  Not if he wanted to survive.  At least things got better when they worked in teams.  There was no Sam or Callen, and while Morgan had told them that next time, they should inform both him and Callen, he let it go after that.

The afternoon went by pretty uneventfully, and when they were done, he approached Jenna.  "Wanna come over for a while?" he asked her. "I promise to have you home by dinner," he said, teasingly.  "Or we'll get Morgan to call them and say you're staying over for dinner."  This was almost like dating back on the bases, where every father had a gun and knew how to use them.

Things were still tense at the house, or maybe that was just the way Jenna was reading things - either way she was more than happy to be busy with classes and work during the day. To give her something to do away from the house and something else to focus on.

She smiled when as things were wrapping up for the day Dom found her. She huffed a short breath of amusement, because what else could you do when you came home to find your dad sitting on the porch cleaning guns because you hadn't actually told him you were leaving? She could deal with a little teasing from Dom if it meant that he hadn't decided this wasn't worth it.

"Oh you're funny, you should look into becoming a comedian." She said with a small smile. "I need to talk to dad before, but yeah I'd like to come over." She wasn't sure how that would go, but honestly she didn't need to deal with another shouting match. And if not well she could always invite Dom over to hers.

"I don't know. If I have to give up this job, I was thinking more theoretical mathematician. That or a comic book writer," he said with a grin.

Dom raised an eyebrow. "Wait? I get that you need to tell him when leaving the base, but you need to ask him if you can go over our house?" Okay there was reasonable, and there was insanity and this was the later, but he wasn't going to create a problem for her. "All right. You do what you got to do. Do you want me to wait for you or do you want to come over after you talk to him? I'd offer to go with you, but I don't think he wants to talk to me, but whatever makes it easier."

"Theoretical Mathematician?" She asked with an amused smile. "Put much thought into what you'd do if you had to give this up? Comic book writer sounds kind of fun though - if you're planning on writing a cool one, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it."

Jenna sighed and shrugged, "I think I'm grounded or something?" She got that her dad was upset over what had happened, but she didn't blame Dom for finding it more than a little strange. "Easier just to go along with it for now and let things cool off a bit." And then once things weren't quite so tense she'd see about having a little conversation about the fact that she was an adult and she'd go where she wanted on base.

"It's nice of you to offer, but I think maybe I'll field this one myself." She told him, "I'll go talk to him and meet you there depending on how things go, or I'll give you a call." She really wasn't sure how this little conversation was going to go.

Dom ducked his head, smiling. "I have a PhD in a PhD in Computational Science & Numerical Analysis. Theoretical math isn't that far fetched, although I like more practical applications, which is why I went into numerical analysis. I do have a Master's in Theoretical Computer Science. I also have one in International Relations. Comic book drawing was not on my class schedule. I could always try, though. If I could get five degrees in seven years, I can learn to draw."

They were still at the team center and unlike Deeks and Savannah, he didn't think that it was appropriate to touch and kiss here, especially when this was so new. Instead he nodded. "All right. I'll go to see Sheldon and let him know that I'll skip game night, but if you can't come for some reason, let me know. If not, I'll meet at the house." He winked at her. "Good luck."
