"Only one?" G asked, grinning, before he shrugged off the question. "I got what I needed out of it and it got what it wanted out of me. Staying out of the brig just requires a little charm." And he'd already been playing parts and pretending to be whatever someone wanted him to be, whatever would keep him in a home...or out of it, for too many fucking years by that point. What was one more mask if it kept him in the service long enough to get his feet under him in something resembling a real life? "It just so happens, I was introduced to a perfect headache remedy just a few days ago." The smirk was back and he leaned in to kiss Sam lightly. "One out of two isn't terrible."
The second smack earned Sam another scowl, which then morphed into an eyeroll and self-satisfied grin. "Fine. I'll stop worrying for tonight...if you do." At least if Sam was trying to talk G out of worrying, he couldn't be too focused on worrying over G himself. It worked. "My statement still stands, however, worry or not."
G groaned softly with the swift sting of Sam's teeth on his lip, that growling voice going right through him like a fucking freight train. He still wondered if there was something wrong with him that he needed to push like this after four months, that he almost craved these sort of assurances. But, he couldn't seem to stop. Sam's lips still against his seemed the perfect excuse for getting lost in further kisses before he could speak again. Keeping his leg tangled up with Sam's, he slipped to one side and tugged at Sam to follow so they could lay on their sides, facing each other, and he could better get his arms around Sam's waist. "I believe you." He wasn't sure Savannah had really understood what that meant, how it could mean more than wedding vows. But, it did. It meant so much more than anything else that could be said to hear Sam talk of the future and, for the first time in G's life, really believe it was possible to have a real future together. "When you say it, I can see it."
Then he was matching grin for grin and waggling his eyebrows comically. "The real question is: Do I have to get out of bed to find a pen to chew on, or are you going to nail me right here? Can't forget to take your headache medicine, right?"
