Sam laughed at the circularity of their argument, but he knew that they could keep it going for a while, if they wanted to. "I was a badass long before you, Lieutenant. A Lieutenant Commander in the SEALs, you know you're just lucky that you can almost keep up with me."
He covered G's hand and returned the kiss. "I know there are risk. I'm asking you to stop with the crazy ones, both for your and her sake, at least until I'm there to keep you both alive." Sam shook his head. "No, he's not. That was his pride talking, the need to prove himself, to be better than us. He's not a cowboy, not like us. He acts like one, there's a difference. He's a lot more by the book than you think. I've watched him with Kensi, and he's... he's a cop."
He nodded. "I'll work on the security, and you and the others can get the inside ready, food, water, ammo, the bare essentials of life," he said, grinning. "It's like the Jungle Book, with a dancing and singing bear." At least if you had kids and watched the tape over and over an over, until the VCR would refuse to play it again. Something that poor parents couldn't count on today.
Sam nipped G's lip. "Who said I had fun putting up with you and your constant talking?" He shrugged. "I don't know. I think it's more than just this," he said, sliding his hand down G's body. "We didn't have a claim on each other. We didn't have the right to be upset or jealous or needy, or so many other things, and I know 'the right' doesn't sound correct, but it is, because I've given you that right. I know you want to be there, because you are good and we trust our skills, but there's nothing wrong to just be jealous." He chuckled. "We all know how well I reacted to those marks. We do have more because we've given each other more, because it's not just about the job, but the rest of our lives." He smiled. "Having said that, if you ever start chewing on pens on purpose, you'd better have lube in your jeans pockets, because I'm nailing you against the wall of the bathroom. Fair warning."
