Neal wasn't sure how Parker would react to him but she seemed to be willing to talk which was a good beginning. He had become used to people disliking him for working for the bureau but it had been the best way out for him; even if he had done his time, Neal knew he wouldn't have stayed clean. At least he still got to run cons, even if they were for the FBI.
"You get used to it eventually," he said, hoping it would for Parker. "Although it's not the same. They keep a watch on us and what we do unfortunately but it's a step up to the anklet I was wearing. Running off, however tempting it is, isn't a great idea."
"I wouldn't say that," Neal replied. "I've never liked the military much."
