Marty snorted. "They know each other and predict each other so well, I think most people assume they share a brain." In a way, the two of them were privileged because they'd seen so much more than anyone. And they still didn't know a lot of things about Sam and G. What Marty did know because of accidents in training was the only thing he kept from Savannah even in their minds. "But, yeah, what works for them is probably so far outside the way other people think it couldn't work for anyone but them. I doubt Derek and Emily do things the same way, either, even though they share the job."
It was awkward, but he managed to get an arm around her shoulder without disturbing twins or infant. "I'm not a fan of the divide, either. I don't do well when something comes between us...including my own two mental left feet." He kissed her temple. Now we don't have to have it, he agreed, then rolled his eyes. "I don't know that I'd go that far. My power is what it is. My son...well, hopefully he'll have a decent enough role model for how to deal with that power."
Brushing a finger over Jamie's cheek, he sighed. The kids might be more accepting of powers in general than their parents ever were going to be. But, this power was still dangerous to the owner. Even half the family didn't know what Marty could truly do. The thought of his son having to deal with that risk...Marty almost wished he was the kind of man who would simply use his power to cancel Jamie's out until he was older. But, that might prove even riskier with the world they were raising these children in.
