RP: Two new arrivals
Who: Leon, Casey, Mike, Derek/Nell, Alexis/Tim, Mike/Claudia, Sean/Tommy
Where: California, New York, Illinois
When: Sunday, February 24, 2013
Summary: There are two arrivals in different places

Leon was starting to think that California was really a bad place to be. Not that they had much of a choice. With the way things were, he couldn't afford to be way from the state, and even more so from here Callen and the rest had disappeared. He did not leave people behind, which meant they had to stay in the area, but it made everything else a pain in the ass. Any East coast arrival put them three hours behind, and a little too often, he was woken up before dawn.

Today, at least he got to sleep before the familiar pain arrive, and that meant that John got to sleep as well. Leon told Deeks to get two teams to the plane. Reese, Jones, Castle and Riggins would go to Chicago, while Renko, Donovan, Hanna and Merlyn would go to New York. They started to drive down to the plane as John started to look for the two.

God bless the Northeast and its many cameras, because they got two arrivals, and both were in civilization. Chicago was a piece of cake. It only took ten minutes to find the man who was wondering the streets, dressed as a firefighter and looking really lost, especially because there didn't seem to be any trucks or fire in the vicinity. They could just monitor him until the plane arrived. They used Dom's computer to track the second one. This was a little tricker, because Dutchess county wasn't New York City, but it was still close enough. It took a little longer before they found their man near Poughkeepsie.

Their identities weren't hard to find either. The first was pretty easy, the CFD said it all, and it coincided with the current Matthew Casey residing in Chicago. The second one took slightly longer, but the version in this dimension worked in the Behavior Analysis Unit of the FBI. If the same could be said of their new arrival, they'd have gained two new important elements.

Of course, catching them was the primary objective. Both teams were sent with specific instructions. With no swap, they couldn't afford to leave people behind and they were going back to the old and tried: tranquilize, transport to the plane, brief on the plane. With that, they were also using their shields. People always moved away when they saw shields, even when they were fake or obsolete, like in this case. Everyone was under strict orders to interact with the public only if necessary, never to take their hats off to avoid getting caught on camera and never use any of the aliases used prior.

Callen left the first team in Chicago, before traveling to New York. Fortunately, no problems came up and both teams were able to capture their target. The plane stayed until that assignment was completed before picking up the Chicago team. It was somewhere over Kansas that their new arrivals woke up.

Derek liked this plane. It felt and smelled like a military plane, even if he didn't understand all the things that got Callen's eyes to sparkle. He didn't understand about prototypes, but he understood about the lack of proper seats in place of more military ones. One small move and those two would end up chained to the chairs, but he could play nice.

He sat in front of them, rifle ready, waiting for the two to wake up. "Welcome back to the land of living." Catching them had been pretty easy. Talking to them was a bitch and he would have rather had anyone else do it, but he supposed this were the irritations that went with the rank.

"My name is Derek; that's Mike," he said, pointing to Renko. "You're Matthew Casey and Mike Weston, and you're both from a different dimension, much like me. I'm sure you're ready to tell me how crazy I am, but you arrived in Chicago and suddenly your entire squad was missing. You arrived in the middle of nowhere after having misplaced a car. Your phones weren't working, nothing was the way it was supposed to be, cars were different, plates were different, phone numbers were different, newspaper, money, and I can go on and on." Something he had no intention on doing.

"Geniuses in the group could explain this better, but I'm a soldier. Bottom line is the government fucked up some experiment and now people from different dimension get thrown here. The government doesn't like that because our arrival comes with superpowers and they want to kill use. We find new arrival, train them, and make sure they are ready when we're ready to go," he said. "Any questions?"

Casey's head felt heavy and strange as he opened his eyes. He had no clue how he'd gotten here, or who the man with the rifle was, but the rifle was enough to get his attention. On any other day, if someone had told him he'd crossed through dimensions, he would have said that the man was insane, but after the day he'd had, he was much less likely to.

It had started out like normal, but going home everything did really become different. The house didn't look the same, the street didn't look the same, but most of all, he'd seen... well himself. Or someone looking, dressing and moving just like him. He still couldn't make sense of it, and to be honest a new dimension made as much sense as anything else he'd been able to come up with.

He looked at the other men in the plane, assessing the situation. "Plenty," he said. "But we can start with who are 'we' and where are 'we' getting ready to go to?"

"I assume someone is in charge?" And it wasn't the man with the rifle, he'd called himself a soldier, it meant he wasn't the one in charge. The other man was just watching them for now, but he didn't think he was in charge either.

"We are people that like you found our way to our dimension. Anyone and everyone that came through. Pretty girl over there was just starting college before she learned how to shoot at close range without hitting the plane. We got a little of everything, cops, federal agents, students, millionaires, even politicians." He knew that to this people, it looked like a ridiculous mishmash of people, but where he came from, it wasn't much different. There was a war and anyone who survived was stuck there.

Derek looked at Weston. "In fact, we got a couple of people from the BAU." Or they had them.

Mike sat up. He had stayed out of the conversation until now. "And who would that be?"

"Morgan for one, Prentiss-"

"She's dead," Mike said.

"No, she's not. At least, we hope not, but that's a different story. There were two others, but died before I got here." He turned to Renko. "Do you know their names?"

"Reed and Garcia," Mike answered. He was watching both the men carefully, more carefully than they would be aware of, but as always he looked a lot laid back and relaxed than he really was.

They were both still affected by the drug, but neither was so affected that they weren't paying full attention. Apart from Weston going for his gun and finding it missing, they were both still just assessing the situation, watching the people around them. Not at ease, not trusting, but not fully denying things either.

"As I said, they died before I arrived," Derek continued. "This has been going on since October of 2010, but finally there has been some progress in finding a way home." He couldn't wait to get back to his dimension and fight his own war, the way he was meant to do.

"You still haven't answered his other question," Mike pointed out.

"Because the name is very irrelevant. It's a man who was in charge of a federal agency at home," he said with a shrug. "We try to avoid giving out too many names if we don't have to. I gave you those, because it might help you believe, but in the end, it really doesn't make much of a difference, because you have no choice."

Alexis rolled her eyes. Derek should be banned from doing this, since he was about a sentence away from telling them that they were going to be killed. "My power is not that impressive, but maybe it can help," she said, smiling, before going invisible. "We have a woman who turns on fire. Everyone believes the story after seeing her." She returned visible after she was done talking. "We really are trying to help, because these powers are not easy to deal with."

Now a woman going invisible was not something you saw every day, and Casey's eyebrow lifted as she did. It was like something out of a science fiction movie. "That's... impressive enough."

Not enough to distract him, however. "What do you mean by no choice?" he asked. "You talk of helping," he said towards the young woman. "While this one says we have no choice and we won't get to find out people's names."

"We help you stay alive," Derek answered. "The government wants you dead. There is another version of you here, making it very easy for someone to find you. You don't know anything about this dimension, what historical changes there are, what money to use, what conventions exits. You can't go back without us. You have no idea what effect the rift has had on your body."

He leaned forward, adjusting the strap of his rifle. "We found you in few hours. Now granted, finding people that cross over is our number one priority, but the government is pretty eager to find you as well. How long do you think you'll survive without us?" Not that he had any intention of letting them go.

Alexis sighed. "Derek, don't scare them."

"They should be scared. People have died. People keep dying," Derek said with a shrug.

Ever since they'd gotten the picture of Mike Weston, Claudia was in a state of disbelief. The guy looked just like Jinks. Almost identical. When she'd rejoined the group in the main cabin, she couldn't stop staring at Mike, picking out the small differences that made her know it wasn't her BFFELYON. The odds of finding someone who looked like another person were slim, and when she couldn't handle it anymore she finally blurted to Mike, "Do you have a brother named Steve?"

He was following the discussion, he could see both arguments, he understood what 'Derek' was saying. He could even believe it, mostly because the invisible woman made for a convincing argument, but all of that went out the window the moment the other redhead spoke.

Was this another one of Joe's tricks? Could he have arranged something so complicated? But that made no sense. He was too new to the investigation. Joe wouldn't know his name or have had the time to get people on his family.

"I might. Why do you care?"

"Because you look like Steve, and Steve is my bestest of best of friends in my world," Claudia said. "But my Steve didn't have a brother, he had a sister, so that definitely makes you not my Steve's brother but maybe you're your dimension's of my Steve's brother, and mind-blowing wowness there. Is your Steve ATF?"

Mike raised an eyebrow. "A lot of superlatives there. You don't need quite as many, because the point of a superlative is to make it more than anything else. One was enough, but yes, my brother is an agent with the ATF," he said, still not sure about the line of questioning. "I don't have a sister, though."

"And that's very wonderful," Derek cut in. "I'm sure you can compare people when we land." He stared at the two. "Look, there are plenty of people that can do this better than me, but the bottom line is that without us, you won't last. We'll train you, we'll teach you what you need to know, we'll try to get you home. In exchange, you follow orders and work your ass off so you can survive. This isn't some kind of discussion or negotiation. It's the only deal you'll get."

Weird didn't even begin to cover this day, or this conversations. First seeing himself, then waking up on a plane with a woman to could become invisible, a man with a gun trying to scare them, another woman speaking what almost sounded like a language of its own and he was honestly starting to wonder if all of this wasn't just a figment of his own imagination and he was really lying injured in that last building they'd gone into today.

"And you'll do all this without giving out too many names?" he asked, quoting Derek on the last part. "So we're to live with you, train with you, go with you to another dimension all while being given guns, but best not let us know your names because that would be really dangerous."

He really hoped this was an hallucination and not reality.

"No, I'm not giving you more names than I have to while on the air, with a government that is hunting us down and has the capabilities of listening in," Derek said, not even sure if they could do that or not, but everyone else seemed to think they could, and he trusted John.

"You'll meet everyone when we get there, and no, I'm not telling you where we're going either," he noted. "You're going to meet plenty of people and get to know their names, whether you like it or not."

Alexis snorted. "Don't you pay attention to him. He's anti social and happy to be alone. We just don't let him. You'll be fine, and we are a good group."

With that rifle, Casey was most definitely paying attention, but then everyone else was armed too, and he was paying attention to them all. Even if he was hoping this was all in his mind, he was working on the assumption that it wasn't.

"Fair enough. So what now? Until we land, what do we do? I assume you won't disclose how long we'll be in the air." He wasn't sure about the good group part, even if the young woman seemed friendly enough. There was little point in discussing that, however, it was better to observe and see what happened.

Alexis moved a few seats down, far enough that they couldn't reach her or her weapons, but sill a lot friendlier than Derek (not that it was hard). "Now, we talk. I can tell you a little about my life before. So can the rest of the group." At least some of them were so known to the government that it wouldn't matter. Someone like Tommy would probably not want to share.

"And we have no choice," Mike said.

Alexis shrugged. "Not really, not right now. Maybe in a few months when you know what you're dealing with, but not now. You'd put yourself and us in danger. Do you know I was very close with Reid? Did you know him?"

Mike nodded.

"Good, then we already have things to talk about." She wasn't Savannah, but she could carry a conversation for a few hours, and by the time they got home, they'd be too tired to care. Tomorrow would come the real questions.
