RP: Tommy and Sean
Who: Tommy and Sean (Maybe Savannah and Oliver)
Where: Macy's, St Clarita
When: Tuesday, February 11, 2014
Summary: They shop until they drop (or Savannah drags them around and they talk)

They were supposed to get some winter pants and jackets for the kids, but once they got there, Savannah kept remember things that they might need. He couldn't blame her considering that they had been prisoners on an island.

Of course, there was also Alexis' birthday (and Tommy didn't really talk to her, so he didn't particularly care), Valentine's Day (and the way things were going, it would touch Tommy even less than the birthday), and he suspected there was also a need to forget two deaths. Savannah kept talking, but even then, she kept touching Sean at random moments and watching him.

Oliver draped his arm over her shoulders, briefly resting his chin on the top of her head in affection. He was a pro at faking it in social situations, though Tommy pointed out those who truly knew him saw right through him. "Not since we switched gears, but it makes sense. Not everything can be gotten online. Cake, for one."

Savannah giggled. "That wasn't switching gears." Going out with the group was very much different than going with a unit and Oliver had only known that. "There was a lot more of this at the beginning to get everyone used to things. It happened less and less." As they isolated themselves more and more. She understood why. They wanted to keep people safe, but maybe a little more integration wouldn't have hurt.

She snorted. "Cake should be bought at all. If we had any gas, I'd do it myself, but alas we are stuck with that bad generator." They were lucky enough that they could charge their phones and computers. Hopefully, if they turned everything off, they could have the heaters on. "How's he doing?" She asked nodding toward the other isle. "How are you both doing?"

"I've only ever eaten catered, so I wouldn't know," Oliver said. He glanced around the store before looking over at Tommy in the other aisle. "Better as far as I can tell. Though he'll tell you I'm not the most observant person when it comes to emotions. There's a concern about the openings being attached to us and what it means for the future."

"What do you mean?" she asked, very confused. "Do you have such large family that you need a caterer daily?" She knew that some people were rich, but that seemed insane. Even with thirty people, they'd be able to cook on a daily basis. To only have catering seemed insane.

Savannah snorted. "Most of the men I know fit that description. There are a few exceptions." Sean was one of them, but he also felt things a lot more deeply than other man around.

"That's not just a concern. That's... probably something to bring up, just in case they hadn't considered. I mean they probably did, but it's never a bad thing to bring up ideas." She looked up at him. "And why would that affect the future?

"Cakes came from caterers. Regular meals came from the in-house cooks," Oliver said. "There's only ever been four of us - five if you count my best friend, since he was over a lot. I didn't learn to cook for myself until I was twenty-two."

Oliver chuckled at her comment about men. Then, he nodded about the rift concern. "We can mention it when we get back," he said. "It affects the future because, if it's true, it effects us wherever we go. There'd be no settling down permanently unless the issue is solved, and that means only being with each other unless you want to drag others into this mess."

"Why couldn't your cook make cakes? She can't be a very good cook if she can't make cakes," she reasoned. "I love cooking. I learned with my mother. I can't remember not knowing how to cook. It started with easy things, mix the batter, measure things, stir the eggs, and then it got more complicated." She shrugged. "You're a man. There's nothing wrong if you don't know how to cook."

She really never considered 'settling'. She knew that with her family, there would be no settling ever. They'd fight and fight, regardless of the dimension, and if they found their way home, they'd fight some more. "I guess it all depends on what you mean by settling down permanently. Going home? Honestly, I knew a month into this that we'd never go home again, even if the issue is solved. Making a life with people who aren't part of the group? Oh, I knew that wasn't possible pretty early on." It was why she had tried to kill herself. "Even with no external problems, you can never tell other people the truth, you can never trust them. How can you ever have a real relationship when you're lying all the time?"

Savannah smiled. "I know people think I'm crazy, but when I say that we're all family, I'm not just making things up. This is it. This is our world. We stick together, because the alternative is a very fake and lonesome life."

"He seems more concerned about then me right now. I told him we'd figure it out as we went along. It's not like there are any pressing concerns about the situation at the moment." Oliver shrugged. As he'd told Tommy, he could work with these people. If there came a time when he couldn't, then he'd think about alternatives.

"It does shed light on why there are so many couples, at least."
