RP: Getting settled
Who: Everyone
Where: Building 21
When: November 17, 2012
Summary: It's time to settle in for real

Leon had been up early and had spoken to both John and Savannah to find out the status. While what they had done in such a short time was impressive, this island was almost 60 square kilometers, with plenty of buildings spread throughout. Smartly, they had preference to the important installations, leaving the housing quarters untouched, which meant they needed to get moving so that they could have a resemblance of homes.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if I could have your attention for a moment. Our first order of business is getting people out of this building and living into homes. We have houses and hotel rooms. The hotel rooms have kitchens and they have doors in between. Family with children can have two and keep the doors open. You can also choose to live in a house. We have three to five bedrooms. If you do live in a house, you will be sharing," he said. "I need everyone to tell me what they want. You can have a few minutes to talk among yourself and then you must tell me your choice. Based on the requests, I will assign the housing. You can see me in private when you're know. Thanks."

"Oh, Sugar," Bud said with honesty in his voice, "I learned not to cross your mother a very long time ago." At least not on serious shit like this, he thought. He did enjoy poking Margaret's buttons every once in awhile just to see her reaction. He really couldn't ask for a better mother in law.

Bud's face involuntarily contorted at the word clean. It wasn't so much that he hated doing it. It was that he wasn't used to doing it, even though he had been here for two months. "My, how the mighty have fallen..."

His face lit up at her mention of the boys. He missed them. It was true. "Ungrateful asses," he mumbled.

Bud rubbed his forehead. "This was an interesting move by Vance. Moving us back to base even though we knew Allen was term limited and there would be an Administration shakeup even without a change in party." He rubbed the side of his face, the way he often would when trying to work something out.

"That's because you are a smart man, who values his private parts," she said, chuckling. If people thought they were tough, they should have had her mother for president.

She patted his shoulder. "We'll be okay... well okay, even if we haven't really cleaned since law school." Of course the gently touch turned into a smack when he went on. "Ungrateful asses? Is that the only thing you can say?" I'll let you know what they say when they answer."

The change wasn't surprising either. "He was preparing as much as he was trying to help." She had to admire that. She understood the desire to help, while admiring the rootlessness of the plan. "You have to admit that it took balls to do what he did. I like him."
