Re: Troy/Sean
Sean just stared at the phone for a long moment, unbelieving. This had to be a mistake. He was always half-prepared for someone to die. There'd been so many deaths over the last year and a half. He worried about his dad and G all the time because they were always the first ones out whenever possible, last ones back. But, not Savannah. Maybe it was naive because she was on the teams, too. But, they were partners. He could do his damnedest to keep her alive. And she was so much better than so many.
And John...John had been his first friend in this world because things with Savannah were weird then and he couldn't count her because of it. But, John was another one that was better than most. They were too good to just die now.
Troy's arms around him brought Sean out of his head and he hugged him tightly as his vision began to blur. It wasn't fair. Why had they even been sent out in the first place? Why alone and without either Sean or Derek? G never sent anyone without their partner. So, it had to be the Director. But, why them of all people?
Blinking rapidly, he pulled away enough to see Troy's face clearly and shook his head. "God, I don't even know what to do."
It felt like he was breaking inside. But, even as he thought that, he knew he wouldn't be the only one. The family would need them, G and Marty especially. And Brian and Derek would need them. Looking around, he couldn't really name a single person whose life hadn't been touched by the two of them. "Should find Dad, see what G and Marty need. Someone should do the same for Brian and Derek."
