Re: Neal/Peter
"I don't think it's as bad as all that, we keep you around for far more than your taste in wines." Peter assured Neal and did not bother to lose the smile, despite Neal's warning that he'd lose his palate. Besides, Peter was no wine aficionado the way Neal was and he was more than capable of holding his own in that regard. Neal would be fine. "I'll get you something nice for your birthday if it'll help."
Peter had a feeling he knew exactly what Neal was thinking, but then they seemed to be able to do that even before they'd ended up here. "You're going to have to learn to trust them." It wasn't exactly something a con did - but Peter had been doing his best to remind Neal ever since they started working together that he wasn't just a con.
"So I've heard." Peter found it amusing more than insulting, especially considering the way things had always been between him and Elizabeth, but in the end it was unimportant what Kinney thought of him. "Maybe you ought to plan the next get together then." Peter suggested. "Savannah has done the brunt of the work with most of these parties - but she's a kid, and Kinney - well I don't think we need to say anything more about that. Maybe it's time you showed off."
