Eliot couldn't decide if this was a vacation or training, but he knew that it sucked for him. Disney was not vision-friendly for him, reminding him acutely that he had a disability. He'd had to go back to using the cane again, and his sunglasses were always on in public. Rides were not his thing, shows were dancing skeletons, and shops held a lot of nothing. April was stuck in the waiting area some of the time, too, and he wasn't about to abandon her. So he did what he did best anyway - guarding the group he was with.

(He had to admit the one highlight was that Renko most likely had a migraine to end all migraines from sensory overload.)

Eliot was glad that Vance had decided this afternoon would be spent at the hotel, giving him a chance to relax a little. He was still on alert at all times, but there were no crowds, giant metal objects, or obstacles to impede him. His cane wasn't needed at the hotel after the first night, but he still used it to keep uniformity.

Sitting on the edge of the hotel pool with his legs dangling in the water, the sun beating on his bare shoulders, Eliot watched those in the area. He'd found out at the school that underwater and him didn't mix. The conformers trapped water in his hollow eyes. It had been more amusing than horrifying, but it was also another detriment to add to the list.

Spending time with April wasn't a detriment, however, especially since they hadn't had a honeymoon. He never would have asked for one as he knew the dangers. Taking advantage of the imposed vacation while at the hotel to engage in honeymoon activities was helping him survive this trip quite nicely.

April had never been to Disney World before, or Disney Land for that matter, and couldn't help but to be excited. Being pregnant meant there was a lot of standing or sitting around watching the rest of them go on rides that she couldn't go on, and a lot of being the designated baby sitter as parents enjoyed themselves, but to her that didn't really matter. There was still a lot to see and experience and while she was tired and had a sore back at the end of the day, she was enjoying herself mostly.

Epcot had been one of the best places so far, since it only had a few rides she couldn't go on. All the walking and the numerous activities also made her pretty tired, and she couldn't say she minded being back at the hotel for an afternoon today.

But there was one thing that bothered her more than any inconvenience with being pregnant, and that was how much Eliot wasn't enjoying himself. She couldn't blame him, this wasn't an easy place being more or less blind in, and she knew he hated being reminded of his disabilities. That was another reason she was grateful for them being at the hotel this afternoon. This way she could make some of this up to him at least.

In the pool cooling down, as she felt as if she was about to melt from the heat, April swam over to her husband, resting her elbows on his legs. "How are you doing?" she asked. "Want to come in the water? You don't need to go underwater to swim."

"I'm good for now. Don't want to get my sunglasses wet," Eliot said. "How're you holding up?" He knew she wouldn't tire herself out since there was no need to keep going at the hotel.

He let his gaze drift around the area again, noting who'd come or gone by size and count. "The studios are again tonight, then Downtown - whatever that is."

"I'm just fine," April assured him. "A bit tired, but nothing that can't be remedied by a nap and some alone time with you in our room." Preferably doing more than napping.

She moved her hand, running her fingers lightly up and down his arm. "Downtown is a pleasure area," she said. "Food, clubs, shows, shops - basically it's the after hour place to go. At least if my information is right," she added, but she'd made sure to find out as much as possible as soon as they got here. She wasn't one who liked winging it, she wanted to know what each area offered before going there.

"I can't say I don't wish the days were a bit shorter, but I've never been...well anywhere really. Definitely not Disney World. I know it can't be easy for you though. You hate using that cane."

"We start spending too much alone time in the room, people are gonna talk," Eliot teased.

He turned his hands over, clasping onto hers when they came back down into reach. "Sounds... like more of the same," he said dryly. "Maybe we'll find a restaurant that's less of a cafeteria, at least."

Eliot shrugged. "The cane's part of life, like everything else that goes with it," he said. "I've been to amusement parks as a kid, but never here. Someday, I'll take you and the rugrats all over the world, to the places I've been." Not the exact places, because they weren't very pleasant, but some of the countries themselves were nice.

"They can talk all they want," she answered with a grin. "Seeing how you're my husband and we're expecting a child I think they can all figure out what we're doing alone in our room."

"Besides, it's not like we got a honey moon. Only fair we make use of the vacation."

Squeezing his hand, she nodded. "I've checked, and there are nice restaurants there," she said. "One with Italian cuisine, and a jazz club with a more southern touch. I don't know how much we're expected to stay in one group and how much we get to choose ourselves, but either way the food should be better. At least if the descriptions is anything to go by."

His next comment made her practically beam. "Really?" she asked, not even reflecting on how impossible that would have been if she'd still been an active surgeon with an 80 hour week. Letting go of his hand she reached up so that she could pull his face closer to hers as she leaned out of the water. "I've got the best husband in the world, did you know that?" she asked.

"Point out this husband of yours. I'm gonna have to beat him up for taking my woman," Eliot joked with a smile before giving her a soft kiss.

"I think I might have to beat you up if you've already forgotten our wedding," April teased back, laughing.

"What do you say, care to take your tired pregnant wife up to our room for some well deserved rest?" she asked, though the tone in her voice said that rest was the last thing on her mind.

"I'd say that's a right nice idea."
