She could see Brian and her grandson either getting on like long lost soulmates or always at each other's throats. Turning her gaze back to Brian's young man. "Mm, that's the age when life should be about wild adventures and a string of handsome men."
Huffing softly, she took another sip of her drink and shook her head. "Oh, now, don't go getting up on your soap box. I'm not saying anything of the sort. Back in my day you said 'God love him' as a request, not a fact. It's not God's fault men do stupid, ignorant things in His name. It's what happens when you give them free agency. But, you listen to me, Sugar. No matter how many things there are that are worse, bad things are still bad. That things sucked worse for someone else doesn't mean it was any better or easier for him."
"Now," she continued, finishing off the last bit of her drink. "Why don't you make me up another one of these and we can go back to enjoying the view, hm?"
