"Don't sweat it," Marty said with a shrug. "Like Sean said, we don't joke about some things. Doesn't mean you can't joke at all. It doesn't, right?" He looked around at the others. "'Cause if it does, I'm screwed."
"You're screwed no matter what you do, Deeks."
"You're just jealous of my charm."
"Yeah, that's right. You've caught me out."
"Oi, enough." Sean shook his head. "If you two don't cut it out, I'll never get a word in edgewise to answer Troy." Two pairs of blue eyes regarded him with total innocence and Sean knew better than to believe either one. Sighing again, he turned back to Troy. "Look, we need to talk before this goes any further." And then Troy might not want to stay anyway and everyone else would be pissed at Sean, too. But, it was going far enough. His family's presence was enough to keep him from escalating the way Troy's influence usually encouraged, it seemed. And, this wasn't working. So, it had to stop before people were hurt further.
He looked up at his step-dad. "G? Can we-?"
"You know where my room is." G nodded in the direction of the spare room they pretended was his and Sean made a mental note to ask about those rings later before he said anything. Standing, he looked at his friend. "Troy?"
