RP: THE ATTACK
Who: Everyone
Where: Tujunga/Brooklyn
When: 12:24 am PST/03:24am EST, late Sunday/early Monday December 4/5
Summary:It was only a matter of time

There was one thing that this dimension was proving. Superpowers or not, some people just fucking sucked as criminal, and this one was shit at covering his tracks, or maybe he didn't give a shit, although Gemma couldn't understand that. Even when they had the sheriff in the pocket, the Sons always tried to cover their tracks. The point was that finding this man wasn't as difficult as it should have been if he had a fucking brain.

A few contacts, some smoozing with an MC, and they got the information they needed. Mr. Idiotic Terrorist liked to be at a bar in Tujunga. Bars were something that they could do. They went together with Westen and Caffrey, parked the two in a corner where they wouldn't stand out too much and then they went out the back to cover the back and also because plenty of deals were made there, and it was always good to know the pulse of the situation.

They'd been there for about fifteen minutes when Westen texted them that Mr. Terrorist was there. This should have been a breeze. Go in, seduce him, drug him, take him away. Really simple, except nothing was ever simple. They were going back inside when Gemma saw the soldiers, all dressed in black, screaming and looking around. She stopped and backed out before Clay could even get inside. She had no idea what was going on, but she wasn't going to stand there, not that she would have had the chance. This was a biker bar. No one came inside and messed with them, not even soldiers or whoever they were. Shots from guns and rifles started immediately, followed by more screaming.

"Get a bike," she hissed to Clay, while she peeked in front the window. "Shit." If she'd had any doubt about who they were looking for, she had none know. She ran on the dirty ground, stones trapped between the soles and the heels of her boots. "They are looking for us; guys are dead. Let's get the fuck out," she said as she got on the bike. She fished inside Clay's pocket and tossed the phone away, and then pulled out her own, the one test message with all the numbers was right there, and she typed a new message for everyone.

Under attack. Escape now!!!

Gemma tossed the phone. Now, they could use the backroads to reach the safehouse in Kern County.

At the Fence

It took much longer than it should have to get there. But, they finally got to the between the field and the park. Not much further to go. And, they still seemed to be amoung the first there. Nell couldn't see anyone else on the other side.

They were a large group, though, eight of them by the time the others had come to help them get up and moving after the building exploded. And half of them were in no condition to go over that fence. Troy was only half conscious. Hardison couldn't stand on his own. Nell was barely keeping herself upright. She could hear Sam in her head, saying anyone with training could do it easily. But, as they got closer, she knew it wasn't going to work.

"Hold up," she told the others before she held out her hand, needing the focus in her present condition after exhausting her strength keeping her pack off her broken ribs, and concentrated on the metal of the fence. A few seconds later, the chainlink pulled apart, opening a hole big enough for them to escape through and draining her of the last bit of energy keeping her standing. "Go. Get out of here. I'll wait for the rest to get out and close it behind us." And she could use the fence to hold herself up.

They had arrived at the fence before anyone else. They had even have to wait for Brian to arrive with the truck. Savannah made sure that Nova was inside, dropped off their bags, before they went back to the fence to help people. Dom and Jenna and arrived next and Dom had insisted that she go to the bus even thought Dom was the one with the cut in his head, but between Marty and Dom, they could keep the soldiers at bay. In fact, she was pretty sure that the only thing that kept the group that was arriving alive was the illusions that the two men with her were creating.

"Nell, it's Savannah," she said as she stepped closer. "Come up people, let's move it. There's a school bus waiting." She went to the young woman. "Give me your bag." She said, putting an arm around Nell to help her up. "Go on the other side of the fence. Marty and Dom are creating illusions to stop the soldiers. You can stay with them. I'll bring this group to the bus and come back. We're keeping track of people so we know when to leave."

If she'd been the crying sort, Nell would have cried when she heard Savannah's voice. Finally someone else to help. Everyone with Nell was either too injured or had their hands full with the ones who were. She handed her pack over with a grateful nod she wasn't sure if Savannah could see in the dark, keeping her rifle and the pistol at her back. Deeks and Dom. It wasn't fair to the others, she knew. They'd all trained for months. But, Nell felt better with the knowledge she had people from home, NCIS, around.

Too tired to say much more, she let the younger woman take some of her weight, helping her stand again instead of lean on the fence. But, had to relay one thing if they were keeping count.

"Hetty's gone. Blew the house..." She ended in another coughing fit and shook her head. More talking was a waste of time. From here out, it was just a matter of staying awake long enough to close the fence behind them.

Savannah stopped for a moment when she heard the news. She hadn't liked Hetty for the longest time, but they had finally come to an understanding, and while she would never be as close to her as the rest of them were, she understood what Hetty mean to all of them.

She knew how unprofessional it was, but she wasn't a professional and she kissed Nell's hair. "I'm sorry," she said softly. "I'm going to help you to a tree. You can rest again it and I'll take the rest of the group to the bus. I'll bring your bag to the bus as well. I'll be back soon to give you cover. Just a few steps, Nell, and it'll be easier."

Savannah helped the first group get to the bus. There, Brian was using his burn phone to keep track of who was at the garage already. She got the names, breathing a little easier when she found out that both Robert and Kensi were there. G would be happy.

With that news, she came back. Marty and Dom needed all their concentration to keep the illusions going for so many people, so it was up to her to keep moving.

"Director," she said as she saw the man with Sean, and... "Harley!" She looked up at Sean. "Where are Sam and G?"

Sean did not like this part at all. Not the running and ducking debris and trying not to look at the houses as they passed wondering if they all got out. That was a normal, natural suck and one he'd expected someday, though not really.

No, it was the part where he had to leave his dad and G behind to play heroes while he really had no choice but to stay with the Director. It had been something of a minor miracle when they found Harley crossing the field and the dog led straight through the fence.

Now, facing Savannah asking the same thing he wanted to know, he could only frown and look worriedly back the way they came. "Where do you think?"

Savannah patted Harley, before going closer and hugging Sean. "I'm glad you're all right. Jenna is on the bus, Robert and Kensi are at the garage already."

She let go and pulled back. "We're waiting for twelve more people, Director. Hetty ... she died. We have a large group on the bus, straight through the park."

She looked at Sean again. "Can you take care of Nova? She's on the bus as well, but she's jumpy. She'll be better with Harley there, though. Go and the moment I know anything, I'll come to the bus."

April was running again, her lungs burning, but she was worried about Nick and those broken ribs, about Eliot and his hand and about this stretch being too easy. Why was no one shooting at them? Why were there no soldiers? Then as they got closer she saw the hole in the fence, and she pointed to the others as she guided them in that direction.

Only when she was much closer, did she see Savannah, and when they'd reached her, the rest of them. Suddenly it became clear why no one had fired on them on the way there. She saw Nell and before even speaking she was by her side. "What happened?" she asked.

Savannah shook her head. There was no way to know just yet. They could figure it out later. "No clue, but later. You have to keep going. Through the part and across the street. There's a school bus there."

Dom spoke with Deeks and then got up. "Savannah, you stay. Deeks is going to take care of this here, and I'll make sure we keep the bus invisible in case they start doing aerial sweeps of the areas."

Savannah nodded. "All right." She kept the rifle ready just in case the illusion failed. "Go, you can patch them up, while we wait. We're missing nine more." And Hetty that wouldn't show up at all.

Tyra and Tim had gotten to the fence relatively quickly although she supposed it was easier for them. They were only a house of two and they trusted each other implicitly. Tyra was happy to go along with whatever had been decided if it meant their safety and she'd focused a lot on the past week on the escape routes, making sure she had them down pat. Though she was still freaked out by the super powers, she had never been so glad for Tim having his and had followed him, her gun in her hand.

She'd only had to shoot a few times as people came close to them, Tim taking care of most of them. One had gone down, a lucky shot, she thought, but she'd twisted her ankle whilst turning to fire and was gritting her teeth as they approached the fence.

She was ready to try and climb it when she saw Savannah and then Eliot and a hole. "Hey," she said breathlessly, limping a little. She looked at Tim to see if he was obviously injured and then focused on the others. "Did everyone else get out?"

Savannah shook her head. "We have seven more people." She waved them further away from the fence. "Come on, you're not done yet." She pointed toward the park. "Straight that way. There's a school bus. When you get there, it'll look empty. Get closer, because it's an illusion."

She reached for Tim's hand and squeezed gently. "I'm glad you're all right, cowboy. Now get your asses there and wait for us."

Watching everything happen from above was as frustrating as it was necessary. John knew he had to be in the air to help Morgan know when the area was clear to blow the charges. But, he felt torn in three pieces, the other two parts of him wanting to be down there, helping, and with Brian, keeping him safe. But, he kept his focus on what he was doing, even when Derek broke off to meet the three John pointed out to him a short time before.

He wasn't focused, enough, however, when the last building was blown. He was tired, having never had much real practice this long in the air with currents and the force of the explosions themselves. When the last house went, he was too low, too close to the concussive wave and when he went flying away this time, it wasn't under his own power.

John only just managed to slow his descent enough he didn't splatter on the baseball field. Instead, he only snapped the bone in his left arm as he landed hard, the rush of air escaping his lungs preventing him from crying out with the pain. There weren't many left. He'd only seen five bodies moving before that hit and Rule Number One kicked in. Pushing himself up with his good hand, he went back into the air long enough to get to the other side of the fence across the field, starting in surprise when he landed again to find people there.

Marty wasn't fast enough with pulling down the illusion, but then they weren't exactly expecting people to drop from the sky. However when he was on their side of the fence, Savannah ran to him.

"Hey, baby... oh goodness, are you okay?" she said. One down, six more to go. "Come on. We need to get you to the bus. April is there and she can look at you." She looked at him. "Brian is there, too. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you."

Derek ran as fast as he could, but it wasn't easy when carrying a screaming Reid on his shoulder. When they were far enough and he could hear the explosions, he put his friend down, but he still kept a hand around his arm and pulled him along.

He got toward the fence, and they only had to shoot two people. It was completely deserted otherwise. It wasn't right and he was on alert when he saw the hole in the fence and then Savannah was there, smiling at them. "Where's everyone?" he asked.

"On the bus, straight through the park. Illusion will make it seem empty," she said, looking at them and then at Derek. "Garcia?"

Derek shook his head.

"I'm sorry," she said sincerely. "We're just waiting for Sam and G and we're good to go."

"They are coming. They are fine," he said, noticing how she relaxed at that.

"Let Sean know, please, and tell him that we'll be right there."

Derek nodded again. "We will. Emily, Reid, let's go."

Moving wasn't optional. They were taking Garcia back into a building and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it because Derek was flinging him around like he was a child or a damsel in need of saving. Yelling did nothing and neither did struggling and by the time Morgan put him down it was too late and he was dragged across the base like a petulant child.

He had burns on his face and a gash over his collar bone from the explosion that had flung Garcia but he wasn't really feeling it.

Derek wasn't letting go of him and Spencer just kept up, head straight, pushing down everything else. They had to go, there was no other choice now.

Compartmentalizing again, G had given Morgan's team a couple seconds to move away before he and Sam turned to carry Garcia back into the house. He'd liked Garcia, even her habit of calling him 'Man of Mystery' after the skating trip. But, there was time enough for those thoughts after they got the rest of them out of here, out of the base, out of the city, and on the road.

Once they blew the house, it was a simple matter of a routine sweep and clear. Make sure none of theirs were left behind and take a few more out along the way. By the time they got to the fence and close enough to see the hole, then Savannah safely on the other side, it felt way too much like old times, felt too right to be out there working with Sam again, to keep the smirk off his face, despite the situation.

"Let's move. Time to go."

Savannah had stayed, because Marty needed back up and because Nell was too weak and because Eliot could only help so much, but mostly because she needed to see G, and even with rifles and guns, the moment he was on this side of the fence, she ran to him and hugged him, not saying a word.

She couldn't hug him as much as she wanted, but it was enough for now and she pulled back. "Neal needs help closing the gate and... moving. She's sick." Eliot spoke up, listing the injuries.

"Stay with Marty, and I'll take Eliot. Everyone else is safe already," she said, before hugging him again. "Let's get out of here."

"Sam." After hugging Savannah, Callen nodded toward Deeks before he moved to where Nell was still propping herself up against the tree. She tried to push herself up again as he approached, but he was at her side before she could even blink. "I've got you, Nell."

"The fence," she murmured softly, while he took over keeping pressure on her side where it was bleeding while gently picking her up at the same time. Damn agents and their special agent skills, she thought.

"Do it," he told her.

It was harder this time. Putting pieces together was always harder than breaking them apart and she was so tired. But, she managed. She got the hole sealed behind them and then lay her head against Callen's shoulder as the world blurred around her, both from the speed with which he was taking her to the bus and her own hold on it finally slipping.
