They had barely started the work day when the call came. Another arrival. The one from last night had barely settled in an here they were, dealing with another one, this one closer. Sam knew that G would want to go, but fortunately he was teaching (not that he didn't stop to check out the situation), and maybe that would cut down on the arguments.
A few minutes in the Ops Center told him about the blindness. However, it didn't tell him how the man moved so well, and he didn't mean just in terms of being blind, but in adjusting to different situations, buildings that had to have changed. They could deal with that later, though. He knew what he wanted to do, but G was still in charge. "I want to take everyone, gives Ross and Alexis a chance to see things. You and Sean stay behind. He was up with Bolton until late." They just stared at each other for a few seconds and then the nod, and Sam was moving.
He called the team and sent emails cancelling advanced training while the others got ready, and then they were in two cars driving. They broke every speed limit at least until they had to make a stop on the side of the road. The fact that Savannah was throwing up was not completely unexpected and after that he made sure that she was riding in the passenger seat and that she was chewing on the crackers he had brought along just for this emergency.
By the time they got to Arlington, they knew a little more. Eric was monitoring the man's internet browsing, blocking anything that could get them in trouble. As strange as it sounded, this man worked for some agency, but that was a concern for after they apprehended him. Sam split them up in two groups, but stealth was hard when you arrived with a SWAT team in a small town, because this Arlington was not near the capital of the country, and the coffee shop was suddenly quiet. He knew that they couldn't shoot the man without ending up in the news.
G was going to kill him for this. He slung his rifle back. "Keep the rifles on him," he said over the ear wig. He walked closer and sat down in front of the man, far from arm's reach. "I know you can hear the difference. I'm a federal agent and you have a SWAT team with guns on you. We could have shot you if that was what we wanted, but I'm here to bring you in and help you. You can get up and come with us or I can give the order and you'll be shot. Those are your choices."
