Re: April and Savannah
"You're sure you're going to get it?" she asked, rather a bit envious. "I might just stop by to borrow your kitchen all the time," she said with a laugh. "And of course I'll come and help, it will be fun." In truth cooking was a lot more fun when you couldn't do it whenever you felt like it. She had little time back home for real cooking, with working so much, but she did her best.
She looked around the room again as Savannah spoke, trying to remember that. "I'll do better and talk to some of them," she said. "I've talked to G and Sam, but neither talks much. I hope the others are better." She smiled at Savannah. "I like Abby," she said. "She's nice."
Her smile got wider as Savannah spoke, because clearly that was something. "That's wonderful," she told her. "And I get it, I had lots of room mates back home, though none that I had a relationship with so I guess it's not the same, but either way, I'm happy for you. You deserve to be happy." She truly believed that, and Martin - Marty - was certainly attractive enough, if not really her type.
She did smile more at that and hoped that was what he meant. She couldn't see finishing her residency otherwise. "I hope so, and thanks. I always liked Emma, I figured if I ever got a daughter I'd name her Emma. You know if I ever got around to having a life and not just working," she said with a grin. "I'm used to last names," she said. "Doctors use it all the time. It's learning to respond to it that will be the challenge. How did you come up with yours?" she asked, curious.
