RP: THE WEDDING
Who: Everyone (or Savannah will be very upset
Where: The base
When: September 9, 2011
Summary: the wedding

Savannah had spent the night at G, just like she had planned, and it didn't matter that they had until the afternoon to get ready, she was still up at the crack of dawn. Luckily for her, it wasn't like anyone in this house slept. Well, Sean did, but he was outnumbered. Even Brian stopped by early (although she wasn't sure if he had gone to sleep yet. He'd better or she'd kill him). He reassured that everything was fine, that he had everything under control. Even the weather seemed to be cooperating. After days of rain, the sun was out and it was already 71 degrees, a lot warmer than it ha been for days, and the high would be a perfect 80 degrees.

She did her hair, opting to pull it up so that it wouldn't interfere with the veil. The make up she kept simple as well. Finally, it was time to get married.

They'd been over this before, Spencer thought she was smart, she thought he was smart, in the end they usually agreed that they were different and that made them happy.

Dancing with Parker was easy and he was relaxed and happy, the song a little quicker than the first one he'd danced to, but they were keeping up.

She leaned in and he smiled, glad that she was comfortable. "I don't know," Spencer said with a pause, giving it a moments thought. "I'd like to, so why not?" He had to duck down a little bit to get under her arm, but not too much and he was grinning when he slid his arm back around her.

"This is fun. You're fun," Reid said, wondering if dancing was always this much fun. He understood now why people did it, that was for sure.

Parker laughed when Spencer ducked under her arm taking his turn at spinning. If dancing was always like this Parker wasn't sure why more people didn't do it. She always heard people talking about two left feet (which as far as she knew was impossible) and not liking to dance, but how could you not like this?

"You're fun." She said shaking her head, no one had ever accused her of being fun before. "Dancing is fun, we should dance again another night - people dance other times." She was going to do a lot of dancing tonight. John and Neal were next on her list, but for the moment she was more than happy to dance with Spencer.

"Have you been to a wedding before?" She asked him, "Was it like this one? Gemma said weddings aren't normally so pink, and hers was black. I don't know though, I haven't been to many wedding."

He was sure they might have looked a little silly, but he didn't care, he wasn't really thinking about anyone else right then.

"We're fun," Spencer said, giving a little nod. It seemed like the best explanation. Because he wasn't fun, he was boring and he annoyed people sometimes. So if he was suddenly fun it was because of Parker's input. "Sure, I'd like that," he agreed, giving a happy nod.

"I've been to one, it was very formal, no one seemed to be having as much fun. It wasn't pink at all though." He said, giving a shrug. "From what I understand weddings are as different as the people who have them."

"We are fun." Parker decided, like it was a brand new idea that had never occurred to her before. She had fun with Spencer, and he had fun with her - and together the pair of them were fun. "I would like that too."

Parker didn't understand the point of weddings if you weren't having fun, this one was fun. Savannah and Deeks had a good wedding, even if it was very pink, though maybe the pink made it more fun.

"I was a bridesmaid once." She told Spencer, "It was an accident." She really was just supposed to dress the bridesmaids and then she'd found herself in a dress, a pink dress. "That wedding had pink too, don't tell bridesmaids they're fat - they don't like it. But Savannah's bridesmaids look very nice."

"We are," Spencer said with a firm nod. He supposed that Parker wasn't someone he thought he'd get along with, only because she was the first real friend he'd made who he hadn't met at work. So they didn't share that similar bond, but they had still ended up getting close.

Weddings were about the couple and clearly pink and fairy tale was the theme they wanted so that was all that mattered.

"An accident?" Spencer asked, surprised that anyone could accidentally end up in a wedding. "I don't think that's just bridesmaids, from what I know about women, you shouldn't ever comment on their weight, they really don't like it," Reid said with a nod. He'd never been that stupid, lucky he knew better. "They all look very lovely."

Parker lifted her shoulders when Spencer asked about the accident that had lead her to wearing that very pink and flowery dress. "They needed another bridesmaid and I was there." She said, she suspected it was partially punishment but there wasn't anything to be done about it then.

She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned women and their weight, trying to understand that. She didn't think she would mind if someone commented on her weight, it was just a fact, like her hair was blond. "Why is that?" She wondered. "Would they be upset if you commented on their height as well?"

"You look very nice too," She decided of Spencer. Everyone did in fact, it was nice seeing people out of their normal clothing and dressed up. It was a bit like running a con, only there was no pay out at the end, you simply got to put on new clothes and have fun that there was never time for otherwise.

"That was good of you," Spencer said with a fond smile.

There were just some unwritten rules. Never comment on a woman's age or weight, unless you want to upset someone or get slapped. "I'm not totally sure," Spencer admitted after a second. "I think it's about being self conscious? A lot of self esteem is wrapped up in body image," Reid explained. "I think people tend to only worry about their height if they're very tall or very short, but I think it's different for everyone."

Spinning Parker again he smiled when she said he looked nice, squeezing her hand gently again. "Thank you, you look beautiful," Reid replied, not because she'd said it about him, but because she really did.

Parker pursed her lips and thought about it, she wished that Sophie were here she would probably know the reason for it and be able to explain it in a way that made sense. Still she thought Spencer did a good job. "People are strange." She surmised, because that really did seem to be the only explanation she could come up with. It didn't matter if you were a man or a woman, people were just strange.

She smiled happily when Spencer turned her again, laughing easily as she settled in front of him once again. She liked dancing, and she liked dancing with Spencer. "Thank you."

She liked this, liked having friends and dancing and weddings. This wasn't exactly the way she'd thought things would go, and she wasn't sure if she wouldn't prefer to be home, but Parker couldn't be all upset that she had ended up here. Not when she got to do things like this.
