Melissa smiled at him and gave a nod. "Yes, for me as well." She said. She was always careful to speak clearly when talking with Makola. She didn't want him struggling any harder to understand her than he already was. She also tried to mind her vocabulary. Not that Makola wasn't incredibly intelligent, and she was very much aware of it, but she also knew the struggle of learning a language and having people use an abundance of words that were completely outside of your lexicon.
"The teachers want to make sure that you know everything they've taught you. By keeping the contents of the exam a surprise, it forces you to practice everything. Out in the field, you have to know everything. They want you prepared."
