She'd been crying for so long that she was completely out of it, and hadn't heard her roommate come in until the startlingly knock brought Jessica too. She froze, hand covering her mouth to force down the sobs, holding her breath until she couldn't anymore. Sneaking out the window seemed a viable plan for a split second before she felt overwhelmingly guilty for thinking that running away out of shame and cowardice was in no way insulting to her best friend who'd never turned her back on her once. Jessica caught her breath, "Just a second," and quickly wiped her face with a shirt she picked up from the ground and eventually got to the door. "Hey," she murmured, keeping her head down and half her body hidden behind the door. "Just get home?"
