We have a new player! Tasha is bringing in a Loki (it_burns_you) who was transported into this universe from the movie-verse. Also, I'm taking up Typhoid Mary (toxic_typhoid). Friend button is updated.

Hey there. Everyone alive?

First, thank you Dezi for your post. I lol'ed when she shot the dude between the eyes. Which is probably terrible of me. ANYWHO. This first week the virus is in it's early days. It's, as Devon put it to me, like the bird flu. Everyone's freaking out and it's all over the news but you don't know anyone who's infected and it's just like "another sickness scare, whatever." Which isn't to say you can't encounter someone infected, just that this is probably how the general populace and the government is handling it. The government is taking preventative actions but aren't calling it an "epidemic" yet because they're sure it can be handled quickly. In the middle of next week there'll be another news post about it where the governments all "OMFG STAY INSIDE WE'RE GOING TO DIIIIE" but maybe less panicky, who knows. So anyway, yes, this week is sort of about discovering it.

On another note if anyone wants a character to become a zombie at anytime during this, go for it. I forgot to mention that earlier. But it shouldn't be a problem since there'll be a cure so if you don't want to play someone in this they can get zombified, lol.

4) How would everyone feel if we had an overarching plot that isn't an isolated event in New Orleans and isn't a nightmare on Halloween but is like months of a fucking zombie apocalypse because why the hell not, right? It'll put some of our other plans on hold but I think it's just the sort of shakeup of everything that we could use.

We have a general idea of who will be where doing what.

These are the facts we know so far:

The hurricane/huge tidal waves caused by Namor's mutant powers will hit all of New York City but Manhattan will be hit the hardest and there will be several thousand people killed. The storm is fast rising and dissipates in twelve hours, presumably leaving a lot of devastation in its wake. Namor will be underwater doing all this dickish stuff and probably not available for confrontation.

There will not be Atlanteans or sharks to fight. Unless you're Misty who punches sharks in bikinis regularly (she's in a bikini, not the sharks).

Have I forgotten any important details?

Okay so, all that said, let's decide now the extent of destruction so we know what state we'll find the city in the day after the flood so that we'll be able to move forward with other threads while we're still tagging the flood.

Hope you're all doing well and for those of you back in school in the last couple weeks, I'm so sorry. So, that said, this is one of those what's your schedule like as far as chats and even as far as the best time for threading so we can all try to pick up on our speed and get more stuff out? I'm available most evenings save weekends and tuesday nights for threads or for chat. This week chat will be held on Thursday (last week's was delightfully successful as far as turn out) at 7pm central time. Are thursdays good nights for everyone else for the foreseeable future? Let me know.
