it would if the right people led the outraged response:
"I was born this way? Why should I have to register for how I was born when all I'm doing it trying to live normally but people like Tony Stark, Iron Man, choose to go around shooting missles at buildings get to walk around without telling the government who they are? He might have done so but how long did it take? And was he legally required to? NO. He was given a choice. A choice that those of us who have never lifted a finger against anyone, those of us unfortunate enough to just be born differently are not going to be given if the registration passes! What happened to no discrimination based on gender or color of the skin? so what if my skin is yellow or green or blue! What will happen after registration? We have to sit at the back of the bus? Wear yellow stars? Be put in containment camps? All for our own good? because we were born differntly and a few of our kind have done something wrong? "What about those non mutants running around in costumes blowing up the place doing more damage to the world than little Timmy here, whose only mutation is having orange skin that peels like a lizard. Oh yeah, his is so incredibly dangerous that we have to have him registered at birth but people like Spider-Man and that Venom guy don't have to walk in and give up their privacy to the government for monitoring when it's their fights that tear up the streets!"
