"He's had a long day," Tony excused while the woman's mouth tried to work up an answer to that tone. That didn't really help her, but she gave a tense smile and her brain obviously shifted gears for a good exit line. They'd all had a long day, apparently.
"I'll get it," she managed quietly and quickly swept out of the room before her blush got too hot or one of them had to reply to that without making it sound any more weak.
Great, now Tony was alone with him. Couldn't he have let that conversation be casual? "Did you try the champagne yet?" Tony suggested, eyes narrowed for all this negative energy. One of them wasn't drunk enough to get through this day.
