DIRECTOR HAMMER 'HAMMERS HOME' THOUGHTS ON NEW YORK CITY'S SUPER POWERED CITIZENS
Daily Bugle Correspondent Nora Winters
Winters: So tell us, Director, how do you feel about Spider-Man?
Hammer: Well, I know the Bugle has quite a history with him. [Laughs.]
Winters: Indeed we do. So what's the verdict, hero or masked menace?
Hammer: I hate to disagree with such a fine paper, but I think I would have to say both. I think Spider-Man falls into the same folly as most super heroes do, and I can't fault him for following their example. Take the Avengers. Now, none of us would deny that they heroes. And damn fine ones. But they are, essentially, vigilantes. They are illegal operatives, that have been so embraced by the people they care for, that we all over look that there is no force to govern them.
Winters: So you're saying you think they should be disbanded?
Hammer: No, not at all. But look at it this way, people, individually at least, are good. We want to take care of each other. But we can't just rely on the neighborhood watch, it doesn't work like that. We have a whole police force, who are trained, and equipped to handle these sorts of situations, and a system in place to figure things out when they go wrong. And it's not only about making sure there is accountability when things go sour, these people, for the most part, are doing this out of pocket. They need security, they need health benefits, I mean, Lord knows, if anyone needs them, they do. A pension plan. Right now, these people are essentially untrained, unassisted and accounted for, and I for one think it is a disservice to these fine men and women not to be helping them.
Winters: Is this something you intend to put in place, Director Hammer?
Hammer: It is something we've been discussing. We plan to reach out to the local heroes first, and gage their reaction. Nobody wants to create any friction. We're trying to help, obviously, and bring peace of mind to all parties.
Winters: Well, I don't see how anyone could disagree with that.
Hammer: [Laughs] Well, yes, I should hope so.

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK
By Ashley Shaw
Tony Stark 'wow'ed crowds as he made an unscheduled appearance at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The show, which started in 1943, was renamed in 2009. This year promises to be better than ever, boasting more than 100 designers. Stark, with assistant on hand, joked about appearance, and claimed to have missed most of the show.
The man was dressed better than most of those on the run way, and made an spectacular entrance pulling his car straight up to the entrance despite security's protests.
